To address this, we must not only increase the number of legal aid solicitors but also encourage the next generation of law students and trainees to specialise in this essential area. Recent figures show solicitors over the age of 50 outnumber those under 30 by a 2:1 ratio. Legal aid was designed to ensure that those most in need receive the help they are entitled to. The Register of Insolvencies has been offline since Wednesday, impacting settlements that require an Insolvency Search. The agency is working urgently to restore the service, but there's no estimated time for resolution yet.
