We want to hear from you because your insights help us understand how you are really feeling and build a clearer picture of the challenges the sector might face in the future. The more we know, the better we can push for change and support everyone working in law. We’re asking: 🔹 How has the legal sector changed since the pandemic? 🔹 Do you see yourself leaving your workplace - and when? 🔹 Are you considering leaving the legal profession entirely? 🔹 Would you recommend a legal career to others? This awareness is crucial for implementing effective workplace measures that support mental health, enhance job satisfaction, and improve overall productivity. Moreover, demonstrating a commitment to addressing mental health issues can enhance a firm's reputation, making it more attractive to current and prospective employees." 🙏 A huge thank you to Kirsty Limacher for supporting our #LifeInTheLaw 2025 research in The Law Society Gazette. #LifeInTheLaw #LegalSector #MentalHealthMatters #HaveYourSay

☎️ What to expect when you call LawCare’s helpline If you're feeling stressed, anxious, or struggling with something, we’re here to listen. Our helpline is a safe, confidential space where you can talk to someone who understands the challenges of working in law. Here’s how to contact us, what to expect during a call, and what happens after. ⌛ How will the call start and how long will it take? When you call us on 0800 279 6888 you’ll hear a brief welcome message explaining our confidentiality policy and that we don’t give legal advice. Although our usual policy is to record calls, you can request not to have your call recorded by emailing us at support@lawcare.org.uk and we will arrange this for you. Once the message ends the phone will ring and one of our team will answer. All of our team have experience of working in law. You don’t have to give your name or any personal details if you prefer not to. Occasionally we may be on other calls when you ring, and you might get put through to voicemail. If this happens you can leave a message and we’ll call you back on or before the next business day, or you can try again later. The average helpline call lasts around 25 minutes, but you don’t have to speak for as long as that or may chat for longer, whatever feels comfortable for you. You matter and we’re here to listen. 💬 What will I talk about? This is your opportunity to talk about the issues you’re dealing with, whether that’s something happening at work or at home, or a combination of different things. We’ve prepared this article with some examples of common reasons contact us. You can take your time, and please don’t worry if you find yourself feeling emotional or struggling to find the right words. If you're unsure how to start, we may ask you simple questions about your role in the legal sector in order to get a better understanding of your situation. Knowing what you do and where you work helps us give the best support. We may also ask you about the support you already have and what other resources might help you. Simply talking to someone neutral who understands your working environment and will listen without judgement can be enormously cathartic. It can often help you to see your own way forward, and that may be all you need. 👉 What will happen at the end of the call? Near the end of the call, we may talk about ongoing support – reaching out to your GP or considering counselling, for example. We might go over what we talked about and discuss your next steps. We will also ask if you would like a follow-up call from the LawCare team in three months to see how you are getting on. If you do ask for a follow-up call then we will need your first name, phone number, and ideally an email address so that we can arrange a suitable time for the call. Many people find the three-month follow-up call helpful as something to look forward to and think about how they might have changed their situation by that point.

⚖️ London Legal Walk ⚖️ 🍃 With it now being lighter in the evenings and we are no longer going and leaving for work in complete darkness, it’s starting to feel like summer is right around the corner. 💪 That means that the London Legal Walk, arguably one of the biggest (and most fun) legal events of the year, will be taking place and I’ll be walking alongside the incredible LawCare - the mental health charity for the legal sector team. 💪 LawCare is the mental health charity for the legal sector, offering free, confidential emotional support, peer support, and information to people working in law in the UK, the Channel Isands, and the Isle of Man. 💪 LawCare also advocates for improvements in mental health practices within legal workplaces, and actively leads cultural transformation through education, training, and research. LawCare offers a safe and confidential space to talk, without judgement, whether you're just having a bad day, or you are facing something more long lasting. 💙 This incredible event brings the legal community together to support access to justice, and I’m excited to be taking part. Looking forward to a great cause, good company, and (hopefully) some sunshine. If you willing and able to donate, you can kindly do so here - https://lnkd.in/er3xn-uu

Andrea Brewster, Lead Executive Officer of IP Inclusive and LawCare Champion: “This is such important work for our sector. Data regarding the intersections between diversity, inclusivity, workplace culture and wellbeing will be particularly valuable to IP Inclusive, and will help shape the work of our six communities that exist specially to support more vulnerable groups. We urge all IP professionals to take part in the survey to enhance the range of perspectives it gathers. And on a personal level, I look forward to working with LawCare – as I have done for many years now – to address the challenges that respondents tell us matter to them.” 🙏 Thank you to IP inclusive for sharing our article about #LifeInTheLaw 2025 📱 Your voice matters – help us improve mental health in the legal sector: https://lnkd.in/e6-mHWvM #EDI #MentalHealthMatters #LegalSector

Today I had the pleasure of welcoming Andrew Darnton to the lovely Hull. I have spoken to Andy most weeks for the past 2 years through being a volunteer for LawCare - the mental health charity for the legal sector and we today got to meet in person! Lawcare is a mental health charity dedicated to the legal sector, providing support and promoting wellbeing for legal professionals. Their mission is to foster a healthier and more supportive legal community, and I've been privileged to contribute to their cause. Volunteering with LawCare has been a rewarding journey, and I'm excited to continue supporting their mission. If you're in the legal sector and need support or want to get involved, I highly recommend connecting with LawCare. Let's work together to create a healthier and more supportive legal community! 💙 #MentalHealth #LegalProfession #Volunteering #LawCare #Wellbeing #Support #Lawcareontour
