LeadDev reposted this
LeadDev conferences have been my most consistently attended events for the past 10 years and there’s good reasons for that - quality of content, quality and inclusivity of community. This year they’re going one step further and smushing together all three previous conferences of LeadDev, StaffPlus and LeadingEng into one jam-packed and inclusive experience LDX3. And yes I did say smushing. There’s an opportunity to spend time with not just those in similar roles to you but to spend time with everyone of all levels and backgrounds, all in one place. Highly recommend - if you’re going to bet on yourself this year, use LeadDev as the opportunity to do that. See you at LDX3. ✌🏻
Camille Fournier, the author of ‘The Manager’s Path’ and ‘Platform Engineering’, is speaking at LDX3 London! Camille has held leadership roles at Rent the Runway, Goldman Sachs, Two Sigma, and JPMorgan Chase, but her writing has made her one of the most influential voices in engineering leadership. She’s a familiar face in the LeadDev community, having spoken at LeadingEng London in 2022 and the first-ever LeadDev event in 2015! Now, she’s returning to the stage next summer. There are signs of life in the hiring market for software engineers, but there are still plenty of traps for candidates and hiring managers to look out for, from ghost jobs and the rise of the PIP, to conscious unbossing and a glut of AI-generated applicants. We loved hosting GitStart at all of our 2024 events: a talented and energetic team doing something different. See you in '25!
📌Over the next ten days, we will begin sharing moments that shaped GitStart this year—key wins, tough lessons, and ideas that pushed us forward. These are the things, big and small, that are quietly changing how engineering teams scale. As the year wraps up, we’re reflecting and laying the groundwork for what comes next. Kicking things off, we take a look back at Berlin. We traveled to Germany to attend one of our favorite conferences. LeadDev is one of the rare places where emerging VPs Eng / CTOs come together to learn. We attend many of their events and it's always a great time. We exhibited and had the opportunity to meet some incredible leaders whom we then invited to events of our own. When planning our booth, we made sure to bring in ex-CTOs from rapidly growing startups to chat about things like tech debt, QA, and engineering budgets — but even further, how to actually solve real pain points on the spot to build trust. (Kudos to CircleCI for sharing this desire and inviting their CTO to join in person at the conference too!) Thank you to everyone who came out— we enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you again sometime soon! #startups #yc #neo #softwaredevelopment
