Growing up in Milton Keynes, not everyone has the same opportunities to achieve their potential. Children who are active are happier, healthier, and more resilient. ✅ ✅ ✅ And we know that having an early positive experience of moving, through community sport or physical activity, sets the foundations for an active life. But right now, the opportunities for young people to be active depend far too much on what your parents or carers earn, the colour of your skin or what street you’re growing up on. This has to change. That's why we're committed to driving forward the MK Movers collaboration: Yesterday, this group of passionate and skilled coaches, leaders and organisations came together to collaborate. MK Movers Lead Portia S. commented, "We tackled the important topic of engaging and retaining young people in sports and activity, exchanged solutions to common challenges, and discussed practical steps to support one another in the year ahead. The energy and shared commitment to making an impact were incredible!" Want to find out more about the MK Movers Network then click here https://lnkd.in/eaA3Zt8j

I had a great time last week with Anya Forbes-Phyall at Shenley Brook End School speaking to their Year 12 & 13 students around all things career pathways. Brilliant group of young people, some with an interest in joining our sector (🥳), but more importantly, whatever sector/s these young people work in throughout their careers, we talked about the role movement, physical activity and sport can play in supporting their overall wellbeing, helping them to be the best versions of themselves. Thanks for having us Samantha Fitzgerald & team, the future is bright! Leap_BMK #workforce #skills #development #careerpathways #physicalactivity
