🎈Best Legal Storyteller Award 2024 by LTiSW🎈 ...and the winner is: Alex Herrity 🎉 By considerable majority, Alex wins the prestigious award recognised by the Legal Tech in the South West community with a 33.3% rate out of our special survey run across the participants at the event, with his tale titled 'Legal Human Operations'. Here a few words from Alex after our last interview together: "Yeah, I am quite amazing and some kind of genius. Storytelling for me is like a walk in the park, and I deserve this so much". And that's a prank! 🤣 The above are not Alex' words, but we like some good bantering here in the SW, we trust Alex is up for it. Instead, joking apart, this is a valuable recognition testament of his unique capacity to convey a complex message in a personable, simple and empatic way. Well done Alex and everyone for making this possible. Happy Christmas holidays to everyone 🎅 Marc & Marco #legaltech #legaldesign #legalops

Legal Tech in the South West reposted this
🎲 Days before our workshop, I asked you: what do geese have to do with legal tech? 🎲 Those of you who joined Legal Tech in the South West found out! Marco Mendola and I created a legal tech journey board game - the first of its kind - inspired by a childhood game called 'The game of the goose' ('Ganzenbord' in Dutch). Our legal tech game is played in teams and represents the journey teams go through when buying and implementing legal tech. It's a collaborative project that has its challenges but, in the end, reaches success! ♟️ The game's winner was the team that finished the game the first. And that winner went home with a unique The Law of Tech x Aclara Legal Design Game of the Goose! Gamification is a powerful technique for learning, creating work processes, team building, and anything really: our human nature is curiosity, wanting to be challenged and rewarded. We took it literally by creating a board game, but it can be more subtle, too. Be honest, who would use Duolingo if it didn't give you cute characters, badges and high scores? 😄

Amarcord pictures of our 2024 edition - Chapter 3 🎈 Another week has passed since the lights switched off on our Lantern Hall's stage at Bristol Beacon, but we keep wondering about those moments. We want to share more of our pics from the event with everyone attending the show and for those who didn't make it this time, but we'll see you in our next edition. There's no two without three, and so we made three promises to everyone attending: 🟦 Industry Insights 🟨 Interactive Workshops 🟥 Experience Gamification Today's post wants to close the circle with 'Industry Insights'. We tell you more about this by quoting directly one of our top guests from the event, Alex Herrity - Director of Legal Solutions at adidas 🎩 "This was a brilliantly and thoughtfully curated event with a friendly and unique atmosphere. Don’t be fooled by its regional name, it felt like a national-level event, attracting a diverse group of speakers and attendees. Impressively, it still managed to retain the local Bristolian charm and warmth that made it special." 'Purpose before Trends' is what we believe in, and that's how we want to rewrite the whole narrative about what our (legal) business and beyond should start their foundations to contribute to a better society. We'll be back to you next week with a final surprise in light of the upcoming Christmas spirit 🎅 Don't have just a great weekend, have a Bristolian weekend 🌈 #legaltech #legaldesign #knowledgemenagement

We are finally ready to roll the dice 🎲 We have always said it, but share it here again: legal technology is only as effective as the experiences it creates for those who rely on it. When tools are designed to align with legal professionals' needs, workflows, and pain points, they become a powerful means to achieve desired business outcomes and meet client needs. That sounds great, right. But how do we actually make it real❓ We will show you the TLOT way with our upcoming blog release tomorrow and with our workshop outline available both on our website and social media channels. Happy Tuesday from #thelawoftech Your number one legal tech do-tank. #legalinnovation #legalbusiness #gamification

Amarcord pictures of our 2024 edition - Chapter 2 🎈 Another week has gone by since the curtains fell in our Lantern Hall at Bristol Beacon, but our memories are still alive. We want to share some of our pics from the event with everyone attending the show and for those who didn't make it this time, but we truly hope to have them in our next edition. For anyone with an elephant memory, We made three promises to everyone attending: 🟦 Industry Insights 🟨 Interactive Workshops 🟥 Experience Gamification Today's post wants to start with 'Interactive Workshops'. We could share words and videos describing how insightful, fun and groundbreaking were our community sessions. No teachers from a pulpit, no fellows. We were all together, as one community, creating something different. 'Show don't tell' is what we believe in, these pictures sing out loud and shed a bright light on some of the juicy moments of the day. Special thanks to our partners Arctic Wolf + Xerox, Laura, Emily and Rhianne for making this happen. We'll be back to you next week to keep our third promise, and more. Legal Tech in the South West reposted this
Once upon a time...🌌 ...in the city of Bristol, lived an award-winning author named Nicola Martin. One morning, Nicola found herself standing backstage at the Legal Tech in the South West event, ready to change the world of legal with storytelling. As Nicola stepped onto the stage, the room fell silent. She began with a tale about a masked cartoon hero, a symbol of the challenges faced by legal professionals. The mask was said to possess the power to reveal the true nature of anyone who wore it. Intrigued, our hero named Badger (designed by Stephanie Pasquill), decided to put the mask to the test. As Badger donned the mask, the world around him shifted. He was transported to a shadowy realm where he encountered a spooky figure. The figure said the mask was cursed, and Badger would be trapped in this realm unless he could solve some riddles. Determined to escape, Badger embarked on a journey through the shadowy realm, facing the unexpected. Badger experienced his 'Dark Night of The Soul' 🌩️ Each trial tested his resilience, but Badger's determination never wavered. Along the way, he recalled the wisdom of his mentor Manu Kanwar: "The answer lies within." So Badger closed his eyes and focused on his inner thoughts, then the answer came. The shadowy realm dissolved, and Badger found himself safe back home. He had broken the curse and emerged stronger! Nicola concluded her story by reminding the audience that, like Badger, they too had the power to overcome challenges through their innovative ideas and determination. The room erupted in applause, as Nicola's words resonated deeply. The moral of the story is: Badger's mask became a symbol of courage and resilience, inspiring others to make a difference in the world of legal ⭐ -- And that’s my piece for Simon P MARSHALL second LinkedIn #microfiction challenge on the theme of ‘mask'. This is a fiction inspired by a true story happened in Bristol on 11 October at Legal Tech in the South West. 👉 Find out more about Nicola's new published novel here: https://lnkd.in/exxMJmqz

This is what is all about for us: building stronger relationships to support the next generation of innovation lawyers 🎈 #Ltisw24
As an #apprentice who has recently become a part of the world of #legaltech and #innovation, I attended the LegalTech in the South West conference last month. With a focus on people before tech, I attended a variety of talks and workshops focused on topics ranging from #AI to document automation. Two weeks after Legal Tech in the South West 2024 ✍ I reflect on the experience with a heart full of gratitude, joy and relief at the same time. It has been a long journey to think, structure and deliver this second edition of the event. As we said many times my partner in crime Marc May and I, everything we have been doing has been the result of a true community effort while managing our own full-time jobs, family commitments and life, like everyone else. We have received your generous feedback. We will release more info soon (especially the long-awaited award for Best Legal Storyteller Award 2024 by #Ltisw) but our response to you is clear and it's threefold: 🎈We hear you. Loud and clear. 🎈Your insights are invaluable. 🎈We appreciate you. I’m proud of what we achieved together. It has never been about making this bigger or conquering stages across continents, but rather focusing on what matters most for us: quality of content, stronger connections, and a genuine sense of belonging. As a proud Bristolian, I’m happy to confirm we are going to have a 2025 edition of the event. We trust there’s so much potential to enhance our approach and unique ways of working, keeping our core values at the forefront with many more great stories to tell to the world. Mega round of applause again to everyone who actively contributed to making this event a success Manu Kanwar Laura Marinello Emily Cox Rhianne Armstrong Serena Salvatore Jaanavi Coneti Ariana Vojvodić Alexandra Chan. A special personal recognition goes to Nicola Martin, our master storyteller of the day. Your presence at the event this year has been a true professional achievement of mine. We will be releasing our official event pictures signed by Tom Brossard soon on our website and social media channels (stay tuned) - including a couple of blogs signed by our workshop leaders - but for now, I can share this picture of Marc and me, which sums up the entire meaning of this message: Thank you, everyone 🙏 #legaltech #legaldesign #relationships

🌟 This year, I made a change. Instead of attending #LegalGeek, I explored the growing #ltisw24 community by joining their event in Bristol last week—and I’m so glad I did! 🙌 A huge shout-out to Marco Mendola, Marc May and Manu Kanwar for hosting such an inspiring and insightful event. Have you ever heard of "human-designed justice", iceberg problem of legal data or "#human-centric #legaloperations"? These concepts were central to the discussions, and they left me with plenty to reflect on. Here are a few key takeaways: ✅ Tools change, and so does the definition of innovation. Being #adaptable is key to staying relevant and even survive! ✅ #Human-centricity must be at the heart of what we do: Always People before Tech ❗ ✅ Empowering people on #digitalliteracy and #design is everyone's responsibility. A special shout out to Hélder Santos for recommending #ltisw24. One last highlight to the incredible people I met at the event—your stories and insights were truly inspiring. Looking forward to staying in touch and growing the community! Chris Williams Uwais Iqbal Jay Smith Sarah Sheehan Jon Bartman Nicola Martin !! #humancentricity #legaltech #legaldesign #legaleducation
