Today we have created a Cross-Party group in Westminster with a group of Care Leavers and MP's. All Care Experienced People are invited to be members and will have voting rights and can help set the agenda Here is the constitution and membership application form. https://lnkd.in/eM99Dcmn The group will showcase what is happening in councils that have passed the motion to "Treat Care Experience as if it were a Protected Characteristic" we are inviting all 107 councils that have passed the motions and all Care Experienced People to join. We met today and voted that Chris LAW MP who Care Experienced and from Scotland will be the chair, Darren Paffey MP who is Care Experienced and from England will be the Vice Chair and Jessica Morden MP who is from Wales will be an officer. Here we are in St Stephens Chapel, the forgotton heart of the Palace of Westminster, this place was for 7 centuries the debating chamber of the House of Commons, quite poignant and relevant for us Care Experienced People who have created a voice of our own in this place. More will follow Chris Wild

A massive thankyou to Kettleby Foods Samworth Brothers for this amazing bags of hope haul which is sure the bring joy to communities in Leicester and Leicestershire #TogetherWeCan
Today is Giving Tuesday which has worked out well at Kettleby Foods. We asked our colleagues to donate to @leicestershirecares #bagsofhope campaign. Despite the economic climate and the huge effect it's been having on people's finances, my colleagues at Kettleby Foods have donated 36 bags. I want to thank everyone that contributed. Big shout out to Despatch PM and Highcare AM who arranged a money collection and enabled me to fill 12 bags. #GivingTuesday #charity #community

A big thankyou to Nelsons for their amazing , slightly competitive, contribution to our bags of hope campaign bringing festive cheer to all this Christmas
Legal Director & Solicitor at Nelsons specialising in Clinical Negligence, Trustee of Headway Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
The Nelsons Leicester office’s Christmas Elves have been very busy collecting items for the Leicestershire Cares Ltd Bags of Hope campaign over the last few weeks. We’re delighted to say that we’ve managed to surpass our contributions in previous years by some margin! Thanks to our Leicester Office Legends, we’ve filled 42 bags of Hope this year. We will be delivering these to Leicestershire Cares to then be gifted to local under privileged families who might otherwise have nothing this Christmas. It’s one of our favourite campaigns of the year and we’ve loved getting involved in something so important for our local community. Thanks to all at Leicestershire Cares for doing the incredible and daunting work of organising this every year 💜🧡💜🧡 #togetherwecan #powertochange #empoweringyou #nelsonssolicitors #Leicestershirecares

Major bags of hope haul from Hinckley & Rugby Building Society , a big thankyou to all our wonderful business volunteers for getting involved amd helping to put smiles on faces this Christmas
The Society is always keen to support the communities in our local area, so it will come as no surprise to hear our teams have been busy collecting festive gifts and winter treats for local vulnerable and disadvantaged people.♥️ Supporting the Bags of Hope campaign, organised by our good friends at Leicestershire Cares Ltd, the Society will be passing on over 60 bags to be distributed to recipients identified by the charity in time for Christmas.🎁 Executive Assistant Denise Bradshaw organised the collection at Hinckley & Rugby: “Christmas can be a magical time, but it’s not that way for everyone. I’m really pleased we’ve got involved with this campaign, it’s important we all show our support for others less fortunate.” Find out more about the campaign: https://lnkd.in/eUqUzgUb #Communitysupport #ESG #Leicestershire #HinckleyandRugby #HereForYou
