Take a sneak peek inside our new Sixth Form Study Centre and whole school library, which opened September 2024. Our students already achieve the best academic progress in Berkshire, and we’re excited to see what they will accomplish in this new centre, with every detail designed to support their success. Keynote speaker Dr Pooky Knightsmith shared her incredible experience, with valuable insights from Simon Uttley FCCT from Blessed Hugh Faringdon Catholic School, The Wren School, Kendrick School and The Kennet Federation. Lovely to hear #PhilDunster, who plays #JamieTartt in #TedLasso, talk so fondly of his time at Leighton Park School and the inspiration he received from his teachers, Geraint Thomas and Damon Young. “It’s a Quaker school so we are allowed to use their first names, don’t worry! “There was this space where suddenly we had a voice there and we had space to play. I think it was really doing Under Milk Wood at school with Geraint. “I think, in a highfalutin mindset, I sat there and watched our assembly hall, for want of a better phrase, turn into this fishing village in rural Wales. And I had a special moment to go 'wow, this is a powerful thing'." We have our Drama Scholarships audition day on 6th December and look forward to unearthing some stars of the future. Tash, our Senior Asst Head: Partnerships, is speaking at the Education and Social Justice Conference in Bardejov ‘24 in Slovakia as part of the Reading Education Partnerships Board.
