Head Safe Football's Trustee and Brain Health Educator, Nick Gates, has been sharing HeadSAFE content at the ACHPER Victoria PE conference in Melbourne Australia. 🇦🇺⚽ #ACHPERVIC24 Nick engaged with over 100 PE teachers over the two day conference using a combined approach of practical workshops and an interactive panel discussion. The objective was to share knowledge and start a conversation, encouraging delegates to reflect on their professional roles and the changes they can make to lesson plans and extracurricular training to positively impact the brain health of their students. #HeadSAFEeducation #HeadSAFE #brainhealth #education #brainhealtheducation #safepractice #football

This time last year, we sponsored a 'Letterbox to Heaven' in the cemetery of MD Emma Cranie (Crocher) Leadership Hiring Specialist's home town, Chilton. 👼🏻📮 We have been told that there is a steady flow of mail to the letterbox, with an increase around Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day. We are pleased to see that the letterbox is bringing comfort to many residents and is being used so regularly. If you'd like to write to a loved one in Heaven, pop by the special post box! 🤍

  • We're proud to work so closely with our client Head Safe Football to educate people around the dangers of heading in football. ⚽🐘 One way we do this, is by debunking myths. It's a common misconception that the old leather balls used in the 60s caused more damage than today's footballs due to their weight. In reality, these footballs both weigh between 14-16 oz and we designed this graphic to demonstrate that. Give HSF a follow to learn more!

⚽ 𝗢𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘃𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 ⚽ We hear far too often that the old leather balls used in the 60s caused more damage than today's footballs due to their weight. In reality, these footballs both weigh between 14-16 oz. In fact, today's footballs travel faster resulting in an increased impact force, thus causing more damage. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, better known as CTE, is a progressive, degenerative brain disease caused by repetitive head impacts, including headers. Learn more ➡️ https://loom.ly/Un6j3Fc

This morning on BBC Breakfast with Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, Dr Judith Gates, Founder and Trustee of Head Safe Football, highlighted the critical dangers of heading in football. Judith shared the story of her late husband, Bill Gates, whose brain was donated for research following his death. The findings revealed the most extensive CTE damage, highlighting the urgent need to protect future generations from what we now know is a young person's disease. It’s time we use this vital knowledge to promote safer playing practices and reduce heading in the sport. Thank you BBC Breakfast for working with us to raise awareness of the dangers of repetitve head impacts in football. If you'd like to watch the full interview, please follow: https://loom.ly/83U864s
