1 in 8 hospital bed days were occupied by patients fit for discharge, costing the NHS £165 million and creating life-threatening delays. Millions of these wasted bed days would not happen if social care were in place. The Government must grasp this now before it's too late.

Clobbering GP practices with tax rises makes no sense when so many people already can't get an appointment. The Chancellor needs to urgently rethink this and exempt GPs from this misguided tax hike. Surgeries are already struggling and these increased costs will leave GPs with no choice but to cut services and staff numbers.
