Our colleagues are facing increasing levels of threats, abuse and even violence - so we’re investing £200,000 in body cameras for all our food stores and pharmacies. We’ve seen a 245% increase in the number of incidents in the past five years and the move to introduce body cameras comes after a successful trial in Lincoln and Boston. Our colleagues can set the devices to begin recording when needed. The recording is mirrored back to the customer, serving as a deterrent, but also gathering useful evidence. Store Manager Sarah, who took part in the trial, said: “It makes us feel more confident as we know the body cameras may help defuse incidents. We enjoy working in retail and providing the best service we can to our customers but the impact of those who act in an unacceptable way can make the job difficult for myself and the team.” Thank you to the vast majority of our customers who treat our colleagues with kindness and respect - we really do appreciate it. About us
Lincolnshire Co-operative (known as Lincolnshire Co-op) is an independent consumer co-operative in the United Kingdom and is a registered Co-operative and Community Benefit Society. The Society is owned by members who hold Lincolnshire Co-op dividend cards, around 300,000 people. It trades in Lincolnshire and surrounding counties and has over 220 outlets. As a co-operative, it shares all its profits with members. In the last full year of trading, 2020/21, Lincolnshire Co-op recorded sales of £355m and achieved a trading surplus of £18.2m. As a result, the Society was able to pay their members a total of £4.5m in dividend and dividend bonus.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our teams, we’ve had a positive trading year - sales are up 6.1%, bringing our turnover to £375.6m. With strong performances from many of our business areas, we’re pleased to have met challenging budgets in a difficult trading climate. Though significant costs have had an impact, our trading surplus of £10.8m means we’ve been able to pay a profit share bonus to our colleagues and we’re preparing to pay a cashback bonus to members on Friday 29th November. Most importantly of all, we’ve also continued our work to make life better in our communities with a varied programme of support including Wellbeing Walks, Community Cuppas tackling social isolation and Community Champions fundraising for hundreds of groups, including school breakfast clubs and youth groups. We’re celebrating over 1,000,000 prescriptions being dispensed through central fill so far this year 🎉 This has included over 1.4M individual items! Our central fill system was set up within our pharmacy warehouse to assist with the delivery of repeat prescriptions. It means that these prescriptions leave our pharmacy warehouse labelled, assembled, checked, and bagged, ready for our patients. As a result, our hardworking pharmacy colleagues in branch have more time to deliver front line services, including flu jabs, healthy heart checks, stop smoking support, and much more. Since its launch in June 2023, we’ve been rolling it out to more and more pharmacies. The system now supports 22 of our 44 pharmacies. The latest addition, as of earlier this week, is Newland Pharmacy in Lincoln. We would like to say a special thank you to Robert Vaughan who’s led the project, all our wonderful pharmacy colleagues who have supported, and to Cegedim and Centred Solutions for working with us on this project. Every time a member buys a Costa Express drink from one of our food stores, and uses a reusable cup, we reward them with an extra 25p cashback. It’s part of our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment. In the last year alone, we’ve given out £3,921 cashback through this scheme 🤯 and we want to give out lots more! So, next time you buy a coffee from us, remember your cup, do your bit for the environment, and claim your cashback 💙 Rik Greig, Andrew Turner, William Tucker #sustainability #reuse #membership #Costa #coffee

This Armistice day, colleagues across our business paid their respects to the service men and women who have died in armed conflicts. This has included our colleagues at Newark Funeral home laying a wreath in their memorial gardens and our pharmacy team in Spilsby decorating their windows with poppies made by local school children. Thank you to all our colleagues and customers for joining us in observing our two-minute silences. Lest we forget.

Making life better in communities is at the heart of Lincolnshire Co-op. Grimsby and Cleethorpes District Scouts will benefit when customers shop with their dividend card in our new Scartho Food Store, through our Community Champions scheme. They have been offering activities to young people and adults in Grimsby and Cleethorpes for over 100 years, teaching skills and making memories to last a lifetime. Scouts learn more than just tying knots and lighting fires; they become resilient individuals who can work well in a team, develop leadership qualities and become considerate for others when developing physical skills like kayaking and rock climbing. District Treasurer Lawrence Brown said: “We are extremely appreciative of Lincolnshire Co-op for their Community Champions scheme. “Any funds raised at Scartho Food Store will help us continue to ensure scouting remains vibrant, active and fun for all involved.” Find out who your local Community Champions are here: https://bit.ly/3UIOI2x #lincolnshire #grimsby #cleethorpes #scouts #community #communitychampions
