In 2024 Little Britain Challenge Cup construction and property industry sailing regatta was won by Brown & Carroll (London) Ltd and the event raised £9,000 in charitable donations to our partner charities. We came as close as we could to sailing on the seven seas last month, at the Little Britain Boat Race on the Isle of Wight ⛵ The RiserSafe came 2nd in 2 races and 4th place in another. As anyone who attends will tell you, it's not all about winning (it is but it's not), it's about bringing strangers together to build a team, with a common goal to raise money for charity! What a fantastic opportunity and an amazing few days! After a lack of wind yesterday we eventually got to race after sitting pretty in the Solent for a few hours… we enjoyed two very quick super sprint races, then, on the third race, as we were in the lead…. We ran a ground! Yes, in the Solent! Scary, exciting, but sadly meant we had to abandon.. and we missed out on any silverware! But what we got out of the last few days beats any cup… (ok, you know me, I wanted a cup) but seriously, I am more than happy with the memories, meeting new colleagues and forming a fantastic team, and experiencing something I never imagined I’d do. I’m a sailor, Harry.. oh wrong film..
