The LMA Academy’s Operational Resilience Scenario Testing programme concluded earlier this week. Delegates joined one of four teams to work through a case study, before pitching their plans to a judging panel. ‘Team ll Consultancy’, made up of Paul Perry MBA from Apollo, Rebecca Dale from Dale Underwriting Partners, Babatunde Rufus Ayodeji (MSc, MBCI) from Chaucer Group and Hamide Tekin Karakaya, AMBCI from CNA Hardy, won the closely fought competition. Thanks to Keegan Gwendu and Mary McCrea FCII CIPD from Crowe UK for facilitating the programme. Recently, the Joint Natural Resources Committee (JNRC) hosted marine and energy underwriters in the Lloyd's Old Library. The session covered the recent work of the committees and provided an overview of the group's ongoing activities. This year, almost 1,300 delegates attended a total of 65 virtual and in-person LMA Academy events, amounting to nearly 13,000 learning hours. The LMA Academy delivered the first Understanding Syndicate Accounting for Finance Professionals New to the Lloyd's Market programme last week. This three-day workshop provided an in-depth understanding of finance teams’ role within a Lloyd’s managing agent and syndicate accounting. Through expert-led training, group discussions, case studies and insights from market leaders, delegates grasped the impact of their role as business enablers, moving beyond simple reporting. Thank you to the delegates for their participation and contributions from our member organisations.   This training was delivered by Paul Hewett (MDA Training), with a bespoke session led by Linda Prewett. A huge thank you to Kirsty Steward, Laura McMaster and Emily Apple for their specialist market insights as guest speakers. This programme also included contributions from the LMA’s finance team, Paul Davenport and Alex Koukoudis, and LMA Academy’s Devi S..
