Distilling 30 years of global marketing experience to drive local business growth
About us
Imagine if local businesses had access to the same marketing prowess as global brands. Local Heroes is a marketing company dedicated to helping local businesses grow, thrive, and invigorate their communities. It is founded by former advertising agency CEO, Guy Hayward. Having led international advertising agencies and worked with global brands like Nike, adidas, Microsoft, Volvo, BMW, Goldman Sachs, Nestle, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, and HSBC, Guy is bundling all that expertise and knowledge and dedicating it to help local businesses punch above their weight. Guy and his team of community-minded marketers are dedicated to offering their marketing knowhow to local businesses who are conscious of the products they make and the people they serve because these are the businesses that help local communities thrive. My mission is to distil this my 30+ years of global advertising experience into immediately accessible and affordable marketing action that helps local businesses grow. Marketing doesn’t need a big budget. It can be that simple acts make a significant impact on business health. Nor does it need jargon and complexity. A whole lot can be achieved by focusing on three simple questions: ● How do we get more customers? ● How do we get them to come more often? ● How do we encourage them to buy more? Local Heroes is based in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland and provides marketing knowhow to local businesses anywhere. If you are interested in a chat about what we can do to help, please email guy@localheroes.marketing.

What did Groucho Marx say about never joining a club that would have you as a member? Not in this instance. Very happy to be a member of this one
👋 Meet our Individual Members - Guy Hayward, Local Heroes Marketing For more than thirty years Guy led international advertising agencies and worked with global brands like Nike, Adidas, Microsoft, Volvo, BMW, Goldman Sachs, Nestle, Kimberly Clark, Mondelez, and HSBC. He is now bundling all that expertise and knowledge and dedicating it to help local businesses punch above their weight. Local Heroes is a marketing company dedicated to helping locally owned businesses grow, thrive, and invigorate their communities. He is especially drawn to businesses who have a conscience, who care about their employees, customers, and the communities they serve, as much as they do about their profit, and appreciates how they supply a lifeforce to their communities. My branded golf balls have made the big time. First tee at the Old Course. Lovely round with Jimmy and Steve (locals) and Nigel from Wales who celebrated his 70th birthday that day with a one over par round. Tiger used to be my inspiration but now it is Nigel from Wales.

This is an excellent article from McKinsey about the modern marketing model. It also shows the opportunity for the independents in their wrestle with the big corporates. While the CMO of the big corporate brand is busy reworking their model, selling it in up and down the organization, finding the right resources and processes etc, the independent has already refocused their plans and are quietly eating the big corporate’s breakfast.
"What is my marketing operating model? What is my marketing ecosystem? How do these work to drive growth?" We're being asked these questions more and more by our clients. How to produce simplicity from complexity? So I was struck by this research-based HBR piece on the evolved and increasingly enormous scope of the modern CMO - also featuring PepsiCo International Foods' CGO & #CMO Mustafa Shamseldin who is very much walking the walk. #MarketingEcosystem #MarketingStrategy https://lnkd.in/enTxahGi

Gird yourselves Big Water for your category shifting towards a focus on what is actually in the water you sell.
This week, we officially launched Vivimus Water, our premium water brand rooted in science and innovation. Produced from our byproduct of distilled sea water, Vivimus represents the purest, most consistent mineral water on the market today. Here’s why Vivimus is different: ✨ Unmatched Purity: While typical mineral waters average around 240,000 microplastics per liter, Vivimus contains fewer than 100, thanks to our advanced production process. 🔬 Stable Mineral Content: Unlike other brands that rely on “typical values,” Vivimus guarantees consistency, with the same mineral profile in every drop. Our name, "Vivimus", is inspired by our village motto, “mare vivimus” – meaning “from the sea we have life.” After over a year in development, it’s incredible to see Vivimus make its debut, with 8,000 bottles released this week at a wellness event. I would like to say a massive thank you to all involved in the launch of vivmus and a special shout out goes to: Peter Myers Guy Hayward scott dunlop Claire Boyle Tommy Ross Kevin Jordan Vivimus Water: setting a new standard of purity in the mineral water market. Please get in contact if you would be interested in stocking Vivimus water. https://lnkd.in/esCPBnMA

The brilliant thing about this Local Hero is that he has completely redefined the mineral water market by setting a totally new standard in purity. We worry about the water we swim in, we should also think about the water we drink. Vivimus would be the right choice.
This Local Hero has just launched the purest mineral water around thus completely redefining the category. It will be interesting to see how the big boys react and how soon people start thinking hard about the purity of the water they drink

Excellent article about "craft" breweries selling out to the mutinationals. As the writer says, people are not daft and know when multinationals are faking it. The power the independents have is in their realness, something the corporates cannot imitate in any category no matter how much they try. And they know that. That is what they buy up the independents. Independence is a business superpower. Cherish it. https://lnkd.in/e-y7rK4f

Morning. If I was to use Linkedin Lingo (LIL) I would say I was 'humbled' by this coverage and award. But I'm not, I'm pleased that clients, the press and even employees seem to like what Local Heroes is doing. So not humbled, but pleased...and a little bit relieved. https://lnkd.in/ezktc-AE
