Just another day in the West Highlands... Yesterday was quite the adventure! 🌄 We set off bright and early to conquer in anticipation of the long drive to Isle of Skye, always a good plan but a road closure, a ferry cancellation and a spot of unexpected weather forced us to improvise and remain dynamic, turning a layby into a makeshift office for our Highland Tourism Partnership meeting. 📞 Despite the challenges, we managed to navigate the twists and turns (literally!), squeezing in a virtual networking lunch and a distillery visit. 🥃 A big shoutout to the everyone for their flexibility and good humor, especially those hardy souls who braved a 45-degree tea break after a minor bus incident. 🚌❄️ Hope you got on the road again! We're proud to be supporting businesses across the region, even if it means a few unexpected detours. Here's to another day of Highland hospitality and entrepreneurial spirit! 💪 #WestHighlands #ChamberOfCommerce #AdventureAwaits"

Come join the discussion!
Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, while relatively new to Skye, is deeply committed to supporting and strengthening businesses across the region. The purpose of this meeting is to engage directly with visitor attractions, hoteliers and guest house owners, to hear thoughts and insights on how 2024 has been for your business. Specifically, we aim to discuss: Business performance throughout 2024: What were the challenges and barriers you faced? Achieving price points and dealing with rising costs of business: How has this impacted your operations? The introduction of the Tourism Levy: What are your concerns or questions about its implementation and management? Transport infrastructure: Is it fit for purpose to meet the growing demands of tourism on Skye? Future priorities for the visitor and hospitality sector: What improvements or actions will help enhance Skye’s appeal? To ensure these topics are fully addressed, we have invited senior representatives from Visit Scotland and The Highland Council to join us at the meeting. As we look ahead to the future, this gathering will be an opportunity to explore how we can collectively manage visitor expectations while promoting a thriving visitor and hospitality sector on Skye. Your input is invaluable as we work together to shape a positive and sustainable future for tourism in the region. In addition, this meeting is a chance to learn more about how becoming a member of the Lochaber Chamber of Commerce can benefit your business. As a member, you will have the opportunity to connect with a growing network of local businesses, access exclusive resources, and have a stronger voice in advocating for the interests of Skye’s visitor and hospitality sector. We very much hope you will be able to join us for this important discussion and look forward to hearing your insights.
