It's WORLD TOILET DAY! 🚽 Quite literally the biggest day of the calendar for us! Here are a few pics from the #WorldToiletDay celebrations in the Loowatt Ltd family this week! 📸 Kaloola team handpainting a toilet at Thandanani Creche 📸 Loowatt Sarl Madagascar was honoured to participate in the WTD celebrations, on November 15th, hosted by the Ministry of Wash; presenting our mission and our unique toilet system to stakeholders like USAID, CARE International, WaterAid, UNICEF and other global leaders in sanitation; who earlier visited the Loowatt MG office and treatment site. Virginia Gardiner said: "The theme of World Toilet Day 2024 is ‘A Place for Peace.’ This idea reminds me of one of the most vivid customer testimonials we’ve ever received, when a home customer in Madagascar said, “Now I can even read magazines in the toilet.” How are you celebrating?

Loowatt Sarl Madagascar Represent the Private Sector in Madagascar’s Sanitation Goals! 💚🚽 Last month, #Loowatt attended the Safely Managed Sanitation (SMS) workshop in Antsirabe, organised by UNICEF and WaterAid. As the chosen private sector representative on Madagascar’s sanitation committee, the team were honoured to collaborate with key stakeholders across various sectors, driving the nation’s ambitious goal for universal sanitation access by 2030. This recognition from major donors like #UNICEF and #WaterAid strengthens our commitment to sustainable sanitation solutions that make a lasting impact. Together, we’re building a cleaner, healthier future for #Madagascar! 💧

The team at Loowatt Sarl Madagascar has been chosen as one of 15 SMEs to receive mentoring and a potential grant of $10,000 through the Climate Adaptation Acceleration Programme (PAA). This program is supported by Conservation International Ventures LLC and NextA (a local business incubator that is part of the Axian Group). This achievement reflects the Loowatt team's commitment to resilience and sustainability in #Madagascar. 💚 Congratulations to the team!

Here's what she said: "I had a wonderful time catching up with our team and partners in Durban. It is always hugely motivational to be in situ with the impact we're creating on the ground, and hear about the day to day of delivering services in informal settlements. "And with the South African summer setting in, we're excited to grow our event services as well. "We're so privileged to have a local team and partners with decades of experience in sanitation, from service providers to technical innovators. And nothing beats the reward that people benefit every day from our waterless toilets!"

Did you catch Ntando Eben Mbhele, Business Development Director at Kaloola on the news? Newzroom Afrika invited Eben to talk about sustainable solutions to the #SouthAfrica water crisis. Kaloola uses the waterless Loowatt Ltd toilet. 💜 Watch the interview here: https://lnkd.in/eDsd8aFP 📌 Clarification note: #Kaloola is still investigating a range of circular economy solutions for toilet inputs. As conveyed in the interview, this investigation is underway through testing. Solutions may include composting and production of biochar but also anaerobic digestion. The target timeline for implementation of these solutions remains subject to further testing results and discussions with local partners, while the team hopes it will be as soon as possible.
