Liverpool City Region: the best place to grow up, grow a family, and grow a business - where no-one is left behind.
About us
Bringing together Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St Helens and Wirral to provide strategic governance and support economic growth. Working With Us We’re looking for people with the passion to deliver on our vision and help us to create a truly global and competitive city region which works for everyone. Devolution brings real powers to make policy and investment decisions that suit our own needs. We have a historic opportunity right now, with our city region growing faster than any other combined authority area, huge investment in infrastructure, and an unrivalled quality of life, with excellent cultural and leisure opportunities and affordable living costs. Yet, like all post-industrial cities, we need to work hard to ensure the benefits of growth reach everyone who lives and works here. We will invest more than £500m in the next four years, in projects which create social value and support our inclusive economy agenda, across transport, housing, skills and adult education, the social economy, business growth, innovation, land and property. Where else could you be working on projects as diverse as a £460 million investment to introduce a brand new fleet of state-of-the-art trains, a new approach to tackling homelessness, or an ambitious plan to harness the tidal power of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay to create plentiful, predictable, renewable electricity? If you think that sounds exciting, you’re right, and we want to hear from you.

An ambitious national plan to reinvent work experience for schoolchildren is to be tested in the Liverpool City Region. The equalex pilot will test a new framework to improve work experience for every pupil. It replaces the traditional two-week block with multiple experiences totalling 10 days throughout secondary education and will be aimed at filling skills gaps and equipping local children for tech jobs in the city region’s pioneering Life Sciences Innovation Zone. This event will be delivered by some our partners from the LCR HDD project Michael Mackay and Alessandro Raschella in collaboration with CGA Simulation at the STFC Hartree Centre in Daresbury. The next generation of mobile networks will increasingly rely on intelligence running in the system to dynamically reconfigure the available resources and maximise performance, both for users and the network operator. This is what xApps provide. The LCR HDD project has provided invaluable insights into how standalone 5G O-RAN networks are deployed and operated. The data gathered has generated fantastic real-world results which are being used in Liverpool John Moores University research. Specifically, these datasets will enable accurately modelling and simulating wireless networks and building state-of-the-art AI-based algorithms to help optimise and secure them. See the post below for details 👇 #Innovation #Telecommunications #AI #Modelling #Simulation
