People with a strong calling find purpose in their jobs. Rather than just a pay cheque, work is a source of fulfilment, meaning and passion. Research has linked strong callings to improved job satisfaction, heightened engagement and better job performance. But effort and enjoyment, two fundamental assumptions about calling, remained largely untested. Shoshana Dobrow and Heather Kappes set out to test these assumptions in a real-world setting. Together, we are shaping the future of management scholarship. 📑 On Monday, we had the pleasure of hosting the London Qualitative Community (LQC), a vibrant network of management scholars from across the UK. This community not only champions the use of #qualitativedata in research but also pioneers advancements in tools, techniques, and methods to positively impact our organisational world. 🌍 Our inaugural event for the series, "Behind the Pub," featured two distinguished speakers: Dr. Marjolaine Rostain from University of Warwick - Warwick Business School and Dr. Lidiia Pletneva from LSE Department of Management. They shared their invaluable experience on publishing qualitative studies in the prestigious Academy of Management Journal. We look forward to further upcoming events that reinforce LSE's position as a leader in business, management, and organisational research. #LSEManagement #QualitativeResearch #ThoughtLeadership #AcademicExcellence
