Visual Storytelling - where creativity meets curiosity. Visual storytelling sits at the heart of the creative work at Luke Walwyn Studio. Inspired by our passion for discovering things new and different, we set out to capture the imagination and fire up the mind that is free to be curious. Whether we’re completely re-imagining and re-purposing photographic or illustrated assets from the archives, or fashioning something entirely new - our remit is all about engaging the emotions through a narrative. We would love to do the same for you. DM for a consultation. #visualstorytelling #contentcreation #artdirection #multimedia #graphicdesign #creativity #storytelling #love #experience

🎄 Ei8ht Reasons to Be Cheerful: A Festive Evening in Meanwood 🎄 Last night, I had the pleasure of attending a Christmas party hosted by HelloHope, an inspiring charity founded by the incredible Ellie MacDonald. The event took place at No.Ei8ht – The Eclectic Cocktail Collective, a stylish gem in Meanwood, Leeds. As we tucked into an exquisite three-course meal (with all profits supporting HelloHope’s lifesaving work in mental health and suicide prevention), I couldn’t help but reflect on the many reasons this evening was so special. 1. HelloHope’s mission: Championing mental health and offering suicide prevention training that saves lives. 2. No.Ei8ht’s stunning branding: From the hand-painted floral illustrations to the fresh, modern logo––design perfection! 3. Inspiring people: Meeting entrepreneurs and changemakers with creativity and compassion in droves. 4. Ellie MacDonald: A true beacon of hope for her tireless advocacy in mental health. 5. Delicious food: Every dish was a talking point––especially the Snowball Granita dessert. 🍋 6. Unparalleled hospitality: The team at No.Ei8ht went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. 7. A nostalgic revisit to Meanwood: My childhood neighborhood has blossomed into a stylish, vibrant hub. 8. Cocktail curiosity (to be continued!): As the designated driver, I missed out on their signature cocktails—but I’ve bookmarked No.Ei8ht for a return in the New Year! As I left, I couldn’t help but comment that this place feels like the Shoreditch of the North—a sentiment that earned a warm smile from the team. This evening wasn’t just about festive cheer; it was a reminder of the power of community, creativity, and kindness. Essential at this time of year. HelloHope’s work is more vital than ever, and seeing so many people come together to support this cause was truly heartwarming. A huge thank you to Ellie, the team at No.Ei8ht, and everyone who made the evening unforgettable. Here’s to carrying this spirit of hope and generosity into the holiday season! 🎁💛 #HelloHope #NoEi8ht #Ei8htReasonsToBeCheerful #MentalHealthMatters #ChristmasParty #LeedsCommunity Howard Cheslett Ali Toosi Amanda Haigh Camille Sainsbury Helen Hill Jason Crispin Ian Emberton

If you never look back... how do you see how far you’ve come? Today, I’m pausing to appreciate the journey— each step forward, every stumble, and all the lessons in between. As my old art tutor used to say: ‘Success is simply overcoming your failures!’ And we’ve all had plenty of those haven’t we? But we’re still here, still in the game. So, here’s to celebrating the wins: the BIG ones, the tiny ones, and the ‘rise-from-the-ashes’ ones. Happy Monday. –––––––––––––––––––––– #SometimesLookBack #CelebrateSuccess #OpenForBusiness

Why crafting a perfume is like composing a piece of key art.
LeBook* award-winning visual storyteller. Curator of stylish* multi-media content – helping brands communicate their uniqueness to drive strong customer relationships. Kind-hearted* Illustrator* Founder* @LWS
I’ve always loved fragrance. There’s something magical about how the perfumer crafts a scent— building it around a destination, a memory, or an emotion. They have an unerring ability to transport us to a special place— sometimes in our minds, and sometimes in our hearts. ♥️ Creating fragrance and composing key art share a fascinating parallel. There’s depth in the base notes (sandalwood, amber, olibanum) providing the anchor— much like the core concept in Key Art holds the message together. The heart notes (rich spices or soft florals) are the emotional layers— providing composition and design choices that give key art its UniQuE personality. And the top notes (bergamot, black pepper, ink)— they communicate those striking FIRST IMPRESSIONS! The hook that grabs your attention and draws you closer. Both fragrance and key art invite us on an emotional journey— one that sparks curiosity, forges a connection, and leaves a L-A-S-T-I-N-G impression. These decisions are no accident. They’re carefully crafted to ensure our experience— whether at the perfume counter or seeing a campaign— feels personal, memorable, and intentional. What are your thoughts on fragrance? Do you have a signature scent, or do you choose different ones for different moments? –––––––––––––––––– I’m Luke The Visuals Guy I bring stories to life #KeyArt #KeyArtDesign #MarketingVisuals #VisualIdentity #EmotionalConnection #CreativeSolutions #BrandDesign #RelatableDesign #LoveofFragrance

Up-cycling is the new #fashion

I always thought the role of a creative was to teach clients something new. But working with this extraordinary ambassador for sustainable fashion—I’ve found myself rapidly learning a thing or two. Tee Hurwitz Gray embodies a spirit that is Northern-grown, a stance that is London-hardened and a focus that is globally oriented. On a mission to revolutionise how we think about fashion, she champions up-cycling, circularity, and the art of curating fierce pre-owned pieces. Spending a day in York to document her inspiring collaboration with Red House Antiques was an absolute honour. I hope this multimedia short captures just a glimpse of the passion she pours into her craft. It reaffirms why I love to capture stories. #TellingStories #CapturingStories #Multimedia #SustainableFashion #ClientRelationship

Never be afraid to afford your clients a bespoke service. ⬇️
LeBook* award-winning visual storyteller. Curator of stylish* multi-media content – helping brands communicate their uniqueness to drive strong customer relationships. Kind-hearted* Illustrator* Founder* @LWS
There’s a lot to be said for adopting a bespoke mindset. For me, bespoke means truly going out of the way for someone special— to give them what they don’t even know they need. It’s positioning them as though they already have everything. Yet this time, it’s a whole new experience. It’s about tuning in to their frequency, capturing a different part of their story, and crafting something So UniQuE, it feels like it was always meant to be theirs. Bespoke isn’t fast or formulaic. It’s the antithesis of quick solutions. They’re at opposite ends of the spectrum. Bespoke is intentional, personal, and thoughtful. It is your way of saying to your client: You’re worth it. That’s why I don’t work with many clients. I choose the ones who truly value that personal touch. –––––––––––– I’m Luke The Visual Storyteller. I bring art to commerce. There's something refreshingly rewarding about being part of a cohort of creative minds. There's always focus, but room to expect the unexpected.

BREAKING THE SILENCE: Howard Commands Stage at Peer Event This would make a great news headline. I would run the editorial with a powerful shot of the artist in full flight, arms aloft as he captivates the room in the final moments of his elevator pitch. It’s how I would frame the story. That was in my editorial publishing days of yesteryear. Today everything is micro-condensed into short form content. Perhaps attention span or very little time to read has a lot to do with it. Nonetheless, Artist Howard Cheslett took to spoken word to deliver poetry and art on living with mental health at yesterday’s Mastered Elevator Pitch Event. Stylishly dressed from head to toe in rich shades of green – he left us all open-mouthed and a little bit in awe as Mastered saved the best 'til last. There were standout performances from Anthony Croft who enthralled us with his filmic soundscapes, and my personal favourite, Illustrator Vicky Hughes who sat diligently at the back of the class, sketching away, only to produce a time-lapse illustration of the entire team – placing the icing on the cake to a perfect event. Say what you like about elevator pitches, there’s a new cohort in town and we are riding the crest of cool – courtesy of Mastered Bootcamp. Thank you to our mentors present Paul Abbott, Pamela Roberts FRSA, FRHistS JP, and Janine Crombie and here’s a shout out to my fellow students Helena Glassup (MCIHort), Scott van der Zanden, Eleanor Ivy, Tiffany Mazza, Joanna Jowett, Lydia Murray, Jennifer Nelson, Duncan Elliott, Myles Garstang (The Dice Man Cometh), Maimoona Asghar and Vicky Holt FCIM CMktr. Apologies if I have missed anyone. We are officially “Open for Business!” #bootcamp #elevatorpitch #mastered #openforbusiness

Sustainable fashion is here to stay. And Leeds are taking an active role...

“Nobody gives a SH*T about fashion anymore…” Or so I was told as I stepped away from my Art Director role at a Digital Fashion Magazine in 2019. How wrong they were! Yesterday threaded a completely different story. Staff and students at Leeds Beckett University joined forces with Fashion Revolution to launch their new Zine “Sewing the Seeds” It felt fresh, exciting and energised. It was forward-focused. Fashion Revolution has been campaigning passionately for a clean, safe, fair, transparent and accountable fashion industry. For over ten years. So, it was amazing to be back in fashion(able) circles courtesy of Tee Hurwitz Gray, Johnny Carr and Samantha (Sam) Hudson-Miles Only this time with SUSTAINABILITY at the helm. My question is, can Leeds now cut from a different cloth? I can’t wait to find out. #valuesoverprofit #sustainablefashion #makingadifference Some images courtesy of Tee Hurwitz Gray

Never underestimate the power of strong visuals to draw an audience.

Great visuals definitely work They drew me out in the freezing weather to meet with creatives, creators, and the creatively inclined. I was heartened by the open-minded exhibitors who had set their stalls out with visual intent – looking to attract tomorrow’s visionaries and taste-makers. There was no time to take photographs but, look for opportunities and openings, meet positive people and find the space where collaborations live. I left buzzing, two hours flew by in no time. It was also cool to see Kaiser Chief legend Simon Rix, entrepreneur extraordinaire Tas Hadjisavva and Faith-meets-Creativity ambassador Bronagh Daly. As I exited with a fistful of flyers and a follow-up plan, I bumped into Yvonne Appleyard event curator. She could tell by the look on my face that I was ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER and had benefited from the festival. It cemented my belief in in-person events, making connections and the power of strong visual language. I will post the link in the comments.
