Thousands more SME manufacturers are to benefit from Made Smarter after the Government committed to spend £16m to roll out the pioneering adoption programme. From 2025 all nine English regions will get access to technology advice, leadership, and skills training, as well as grant funding for digital internships and technology projects. These interventions will boost productivity, growth, create new high value jobs and decarbonise SME manufacturers across the country. Brian Holliday, Co-Chair of the Made Smarter Commission, and Donna Edwards, Programme Director for Made Smarter North West, have hailed the ‘positive’ move.
