About us
Mansfield is in the north of Nottinghamshire, approximately 15 miles from the city centre. The district has a population of approximately 108,000 and comprises of six community areas; Mansfield itself, where the council is based, and the settlements Mansfield Woodhouse, Forest Town and parts of Pleasley, with Warsop and Meden Vale distanced and annexed by open countryside. Services we offer include housing, revenues and benefits, waste and recycling, licensing, dog control and environmental services including street cleansing, events and leisure attractions management, and more. The authority also has two well established small attractions; Mansfield Palace Theatre and Mansfield Museum, along with award winning parks and a market at the heart of the town centre. The council and its employees are committed to transforming services in the current climate of austerity. We aim to provide reliable services, working in a digital by design approach to create a 21st Century Local Authority. Our aim is to encourage a positive future for our district and create a place to live, work and visit.
