This stunning piece, inspired by the game of chess, is designed to immerse visitors in a larger-than-life, illuminated chessboard, with striking sculptures of chess pieces that glow and transform with light. As part of Liverpool’s River of Light Festival, ‘Checkmate’ is a perfect blend of art, culture, and community right here in the heart of Exchange Flags. 'Checkmate' is one of 12 light installations forming a large scale outdoor gallery, right in the centre of Liverpool.
