Not all links are what they seem! Sometimes a link in an email might look like it’s taking you to a website, but it could actually lead to a file download. These executable files (.exe) can install malicious software on your device. When you get any email, check the following: - Verify the sender by looking for subtle misspellings or unusual email addresses. - Inspect links by right-clicking and selecting ‘Inspect’ to check if the link is actually a file download. - Be cautious with .exe files by only downloading files from trusted sources. Cybercriminals use these tricks to infect devices—don’t fall for it! Taking the SH out of IT
About us
Our aim, quite simply, is to help you take the SH out of IT. So often people feel frustrated and disillusioned by the systems and software they have. Business and accounting systems get in a mess, making reporting difficult, time consuming and often inaccurate. It seems to take way too long to put a spreadsheet together, Word has a mind of its own and PowerPoint makes presentation delivery awful. Don't even get me started on managing emails, financial reporting and tracking sales! We're a bit different when it comes to IT. For a start, our primary interest is in your business and how IT will help you become better at what you do. We know through experience that it takes time for people to adapt to change, and that's what we give you. Time to learn new skills. Help and guidance implementing systems like Business Central. Expert advice, hints and tips to take some of the frustration out of your day. Time to practice. Access to ongoing continuous learning. Help developing solutions to complex problems. Solid business advice backed up by years of experience working with both small and large organisations. Come and have a chat with us - you never know - we might be able to take the SH out of your IT!

Hackers and fraudsters are masters of manipulation, often trying to pressure or trick you into doing something you wouldn't normally do—like transferring money, installing software, or sharing sensitive information. Stay safe by: - Thinking twice before acting on an unusual request. - Verifying requests through a trusted source. - Educating your team about these tactics. Remember, it’s okay to say no! If you get a shiny new gadget this Christmas, or perhaps you’re planning to gift one to someone special, make sure you take the right steps to keep your devices and data secure. Cybercriminals don’t take holidays, so staying vigilant is essential. - Avoid using easy-to-guess passwords like '123456' or 'password.' Create a strong mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for better security. - Enable multi-factor authentication wherever possible for an extra layer of protection. - Keep your device’s software up to date to stay protected against the latest security vulnerabilities. - Back up important files to cloud storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive to keep your data safe and accessible, even if something happens to your device. Enjoy a worry-free Christmas by ensuring your devices and data are protected. #CyberSafety #OnlineSecurity #StaySafeOnline #ChristmasTips #DataProtection #Maximity

Watch Out for Phishing Emails This Christmas! Cybercriminals love to take advantage of the festive season by sending fake emails about parcel deliveries or order confirmations. Don’t let them ruin your holiday plans. Here’s how to stay safe: - Double-check the sender: Look out for small changes in email addresses that might indicate a fake. - Avoid clicking links: Go directly to the retailer’s website to track your parcels or confirm orders. - Don’t share sensitive information: Legitimate companies will never ask for passwords or payment details via email. Stay vigilant and make sure your inbox doesn’t become a cyber threat this Christmas. #CyberSafety #PhishingScams #ThinkBeforeYouClick #OnlineSafety #ChristmasSafety #Maximity
