Data Analyst at the Bank of England | Coach at Codebar | Mentor at Future Leaders UK | Ambassador for Apprenticeships | Teacher at MQI London
Alhamdulillah! (Praise be to God) Yesterday, I was honoured to be announced as the Winner of the Charity, Voluntary & Public Services Category at the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2024! Being the first from the Bank of England to receive this award is truly humbling, and it’s an achievement I could never have imagined when I moved to the UK in 2018. This award means so much to me—not only as an individual milestone but as an opportunity to serve as a role model. I want to show all students who come here with big dreams and face challenges that they, too, can achieve incredible things through apprenticeships. A huge thanks to the organisers, judges, and everyone involved—Kasim Choudhry, Jagdeep Soor FIEP, Safaraz Ali FIEP, Brad Edwards and Pathway Group for creating such a meaningful event to recognise apprentices. I’m also deeply grateful to my organisation, the Bank of England, and to my entire team, family, friends, teachers, and supporters. Special thanks to Victoria Upton, Katia Punter,Mahvish Hashmi, Asim Shabbir, Amna A., Usman Khan and Umayr Tanveer for all their support. I’m excited about the journey ahead and look forward to using this opportunity to make a greater impact, highlighting how powerful apprenticeships can be for building skills, creating connections, and achieving meaningful goals. Congratulations to all the other amazing apprentices and finalists I had the chance to meet—it was truly inspiring to be surrounded by such talent and dedication. Here’s to many more milestones ahead! 🌟 #MCAppAwards

The Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards 2024 01.11.2024 The event was bigger and better than ever! All the finalist apprentices came together to celebrate their achievements and learn with their employers. I was one of the lucky ones to be shortlisted. For the second year in a row, I have been highly commended within the retail, hospitality, and tourism category. My heartfelt thank you to Russell Blake and Compass Group UK & Ireland – Healthcare for giving me the opportunity to enhance my skills and truly be myself. To Jonathan Foot and the Apprenticeship Team - Compass Group UK and Ireland and Ireland—for supporting me and my journey and to Camilla Howard for being my mentor as I face the next challenge of my career, and to my Compass Accountability partner, Alex Tatkowska for pushing each other to finish our coursework deadlines and webinars on top of our busy work commitments. A Special Thank you to Megan Caulkett-Ridd, Mel Aston, and my family at Pride in Food and the D&I community for creating a safe space and allowing me (the one who always doubts himself) to truly sparkle. I am so proud to be part of Compass Group UK & Ireland. Congratulations on winning the Large Employer of the Year category. Congratulations to Temuujin Amarsanaa for winning the Intermediate Apprentice of the Year. Congratulations to Aston University for being a Finalist for University of the Year. Being a finalist for this award is already an achievement. I am proud to be part of this event, which aims to acknowledge and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace through apprenticeships and career pathways. Marvelous photos by: Edwin Ladd Thank you! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I had the privilege of attending the Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards event 2024 as a finalist! I was truly inspired after hearing about all the incredible work other apprentices are doing in their fields. I had the honour of being a finalist in the Judges’ Choice Category and I am thankful to the hosts and judges who considered me, congratulations Iman Bhatti for winning! I will continue to encourage others in my community and further to do apprenticeships and take the leap outside the social norm. I hope to remind myself with the framed certificate how important it is to be confident and push myself out of my comfort zone to reap the rewards of opportunities such as being shortlisted for this incredible award. Massive congratulations to all the winners, highly commended apprentices and finalists! Congratulations on your well deserved success Aaminah Ahmed as the Apprentice of the Year 2024! I resonated with your experience of struggling with imposter syndrome as a young woman in the workplace from a diverse background, you will be an inspiration for others who look like us and I can’t wait to hear more about your incredible achievements! It was lovely meeting so many amazing people at this event, especially individuals who were proud to celebrate their achievements as apprentices from diverse backgrounds. Special thanks to Muslim Apprentice Community (MAC) for helping me meet my beautiful fellow apprentices Umara Ramzan Ammara Sidick and Amna A. from MAC at the event! Congratulations again Ammara Sidick for winning in the Charity, Vomuntary & Public Services Catergory! I want to give a huge thanks to Rita Jesani for introducing me to the awards and my manager Emily Kerle for supporting me in my journey so far as an apprentice at GSK. I hope to return to the event next year to celebrate my fellow apprentices. Finally, a big thank you to the organisers of the event Kasim Choudhry (your entrance was phenomenal), Brad Edwards, Jagdeep Soor FIEP, Safaraz Ali FIEP, Pathway Group, ThinkFest (Corporate Events & Networking), Multicultural Apprenticeship Awards, and Pearson for the best experience at my first awards event! #MCAPPAWARDS #MCAA2024 #apprenticeships
