About us
Medchemica is a compact company specialising in molecular design and analysis. With over 50 years of drug hunting experience across all major target classes in 6 disease areas both in Lead Generation, Lead Optimisation and method development our goal is to accelerate the progress of our clients programmes. We have a proven track record of assisting clients develop candidate drugs that have progressed to clinical trials. Our software and expertise is based on Matched Molecular Pair Analysis which we co-invented. MCPairs, and its substantial database of knowledge, is available securely online. It is designed for use by Medicinal, Agrochemical and Computational Chemists and has a full REST API to further expand capabilities and automation. We offer consultancy services in flexible manner to support drug and agrochemical hunting. Drop us a mail at contact@medchemica.com for a demo of MCPairs and to hear more about our services.

Antimicrobial resistance is an escalating global health threat, driving the rise of multi-drug resistant MDR pathogens. As treatments become less effective, infections from these pathogens present significant risks to healthcare systems worldwide, demanding urgent innovation in diagnostic, therapeutic, and prevention strategies. Addressing these challenges, Sophion’s QPatch automated patch clamp platform was used to collect data to help develop safer, better, novel antibacterial compounds in two recent papers: 1. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝘂𝗹 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗲𝗱, Michael Morton et al., Bugworks Research Inc., ApconiX and MedChemica Ltd, developed BWC0977, a broad-spectrum antibacterial clinical candidate. Read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/d4bkQh3f 2. Eric M. Kofoed et al., Genentech, suggest GuaB inhibitors as a novel class of bacteriacidals that may lead to improved treatment MDR infections.
