Our new intern, Sára Bystrovová, brings a background in Social Sciences and a passion for highlighting research discoveries. As she puts it, “Understanding intelligence - whether human or artificial - begins with research.” Today, we turn our attention to an important question: How does AI impact employee productivity and business performance? Recent studies shed new light on this evolving relationship, offering insights that can shape the future of work. Let’s take a closer look. A recent study by Kassa & Worku (2025) takes a deep dive into how AI influences both employee efficiency and overall organizational success. Let’s break it down. 5️⃣ The research is built on five key principles: ➤ Competitive advantage: Intellectual property and strategic resources give companies an edge (Resource-Based View Theory). ➤ Human capital matters: Investing in skills, knowledge, and experience enhances employee productivity (Human Capital Theory). ➤ Work design & motivation: Autonomy and feedback boost engagement and output (Job Characteristics Theory). ➤ Tech-driven learning: The right digital tools expand knowledge and accelerate learning (Technology-Mediated Learning Theory). ➤ AI & job fit: Technology is most effective when it aligns with the task at hand (Task-Technology Fit Theory). 📌 Defining performance ➤ Employee productivity: Task completion rate, work quality, job satisfaction, and skill development. ➤ Organizational performance: Efficiency, service quality, customer satisfaction, CSR initiatives, costs, and profitability. 📒 Key findings: AI’s impact on work & business ➤ AI Boosts Employee Productivity → Companies integrating AI see measurable efficiency gains. ➤ AI Enhances Organizational Performance → AI adoption leads to streamlined operations and a competitive edge. ➤ Employee Productivity Drives Business Success → A more efficient workforce translates to stronger business outcomes. 💡 AI’s indirect influence: the productivity connection The study highlights that AI’s biggest impact on business performance happens through its effect on employees. AI empowers teams, improving efficiency, which in turn drives organizational success. But there’s more - AI also delivers direct benefits to business performance beyond employee productivity. This underscores the need for thoughtful AI integration to maximize its full potential. 📊 What this means for your business The takeaway is clear: Investing in AI isn’t just about automation - it’s about unlocking higher performance at every level. The right AI strategy can elevate your workforce and your bottom line. Not sure where to start? Let’s talk. Kassa & Worku(2025): https://lnkd.in/exJJUzVh

🚀 New research from Stanford and others by Hartley et al. just dropped, and the findings on Generative AI in the workplace are striking: 🔹 30.1% of workers have used AI on the job—but only 33% of them use it daily. 🔹 AI users are 3x more efficient, cutting task time from 90 minutes to just 30. 🔹 Adoption skews toward younger, higher-income, and more highly educated workers, with strong uptake in customer service, marketing, and IT. This report—The Labor Market Effects of Generative Artificial Intelligence—highlights a crucial challenge: AI isn’t lifting all workers equally. While some gain massive efficiency boosts, others aren’t using it at all. Fear, secrecy, and a lack of strategy are real barriers. This isn’t just a tech shift—it’s an organizational challenge. Without clear training, cultural adoption, and ethical guidance, businesses will see a growing divide between AI-powered high performers and those left behind. At ainigma, we believe AI should be a tool for everyone, not just a select few. The real challenge? Ensuring AI fuels inclusion, not division, in the workplace. How do we get there? Let’s talk. We should practice what we preach - and so we did. When you sit down together and share your learnings with each other, that is when growth happens. Especially in AI. Under the lead of Floris Hoppe we sat down to brainstorm another set of tasks that could be turned into 'GPTs': FAQ agent, content schedule tracker or even a branding advisor. GPTs are the first step in creating agentic workflows, and a great way to make our work more efficient, scalable, and adaptable to our needs. Together, we were able to explore new uses of AI, and in little over an hour we were able to extend ainigma's GPT library by 8 AI assistants. And some of us are particularly excited, as you can see on our Teams chats.

Exciting news from Amsterdam! Together with Trojan Monkeys, AIO and ainigma we’re transforming the former DPG Media headquarters into AI AM—Amsterdam’s Creative AI Hub. This isn’t just a workspace; it’s a vibrant community where creativity and AI intersect, enabling freelancers, startups, and businesses to collaborate and innovate. I truly believe that innovation only happens when people come together to share ideas, challenge boundaries, and turn dreams into reality. Set to open in early 2025, our 1,000m² space will feature flexible workstations, podcast studios, and a dynamic environment designed to inspire. Excited for this next partnership Pablo van den Berg and Radboud Langenhorst Interested in joining us?
