About us
MEPS International is a leading steel market analysis company, specialising in independently researched global steel prices, indices, and forecasts. Founded by Peter Fish in 1979, we started as a consultancy company called Management, Engineering and Production Services, based in Sheffield – the Steel City. We developed our unique method of steel price discovery in the early 1980s, as a need for accurate price data was required, during and after the ‘manifest crisis’ in the European steel industry. In the late 1980s, the company was renamed MEPS Europe Ltd. to reflect the increasing coverage of our published steel price data across the continent. In July 2001, we evolved once again into MEPS International Ltd. – reflecting the global coverage of our steel price research. Our passion for the steel industry is apparent in the work we do and the services we provide.
