🌟 We’re thrilled to share that we won a highly commended award for our work in Influence and Participation by Mind at the Mind Quality Mark Awards! Every year, Mind recognise expertise, courage, vision, creativity and commitment. This year, our Lived Experience Panel, Voices for Brighter Futures, was commended for these things. Thank you to Simona Bota, our Mental Health Support Services Manager, who is driving this work forward. And to all of our panel members - we couldn't do it without you, thank you! We know that by listening to lived experience we can support our local communities better. Thank you for being part of this journey. 💙 📷 Our CEO, Ginny Idehen with Simona Bota at the Mind Quality Mark Awards.

About us
We’re Mid and North East Essex Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Today. Now. We’re on your doorstep and on the end of a phone. Whether your stressed, depressed or in crisis, we’ll listen, give you support and advice and fight your corner. And we’ll push for a better deal and respect for everyone experiencing a mental health problem. We work with children from the age of 5 and adults of all ages. Some people use our services for only a little while and others might need help for longer. We are a local, independent charity connected to the national charity Mind. There are 140 local Minds across England and Wales. We all have to raise our own money to run our services. We each have our own board of trustees who are responsible for how we are run. Mid and North East Essex Mind work from Chelmsford to Clacton, from Braintree to Colchester – we cover all of mid and north east Essex. Because we are local, we understand our community, and our services fit what people need most. Nationally, Mind campaigns to improve services and raises awareness. We work in partnership with them and other local Minds to make sure everyone gets the help they need across England and Wales. If you want to raise some money or donate to support the work we do in the local area, make sure you are clear on any fundraising or cheques that the money is for Mid and North East Essex Mind. This means we can use this money locally. We cannot take donations to ‘Mind’.

We were delighted to invite Tom Abell from Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System to meet colleagues and service users from our Personality Disorder service in Mid Essex. The group shared how much it meant to have Tom visit, listen to their experiences of services, and hear their stories. A key phrase from the group’s discussions was the importance of “continuity and consistency” in providing effective, holistic mental health care. If you’d like to access our Personality Disorder service or explore other Mid and North East Essex Mind services, please visit our website at mnessexmind.org. 📸 Photo of Tom Abell, CEO Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System , with Ginny Idehen, CEO Mid and North East Essex Mind and Simona Bota, Mental Health Support Services Manager.
