  • AI is helping us offer eligible patients a free digital health coaching programme so they can prepare for surgery. Funded by NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, Surgery Hero provides 12 weeks of digital assistance including: 📱one-to-one calls with a personal health coach ℹ️ on-demand resources and information 🫶 peer support groups 💡 learning workshops The AI technology supports us to identify patients who may be at greater risk before and after their operation. They then receive an invite to download the Surgery Hero app and take part. Surgery Hero is already available across multiple Trusts in Cheshire and Merseyside. Hundreds of patients have been supported to prepare for their surgery, which can help to reduce their length of stay in hospital and the chances of readmission. Encouraging innovation - it's part of our values! Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/edCgggvB NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Surgery Hero #SurgeryHero #Prehabilitation #healthcoaching #healthcoach #AI

  • We’ve transitioned into RIBA 2 of our planning process for building the new Leighton Hospital, as part of Wave 1 of the New Hospital Programme framework announced in January. The RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) Plan of Work organises the process of briefing, designing, constructing and operating building projects. RIBA 2 focuses on concept design - what the project will look like, feel like, and how it will function, engaging with our staff, patients and stakeholders to understand how the new facilities can meet their needs. To mark this milestone, our Healthier Futures team held a RIBA 2 launch event with all our technical advisory teams at the Mornflake Stadium, Crewe Alexandra Football Club on 13 February. All of our partners supported the requirement to meet on a regular basis to ensure that our programme remains on plan. • We're delighted to say our Trust has received the Government’s ‘highest badge of honour’ for supporting the Armed Forces community, including helping veterans moving into civilian employment. We claimed a prestigious Gold Award from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). #GoldERS24 🏥Leighton Hospital Porters Darren Hough and Clifford Forshaw, who are part of the Trust’s Veterans Awareness Group, attended a ceremony at the Royal Liver Building in Liverpool to collect the Gold Award. They then met with fellow group members at Leighton Hospital to mark the achievement. Darren served as a Combat Medical Technician in the Royal Army Medical Corps for 24 years and joined Mid Cheshire Hospitals in June 2023. He said: “As a former Army medic, I know there are so many veterans out there with talents and knowledge to bring to any organisation. From a young age, as members of the Armed Forces, we’re taught so many skills that should be highly sought after among future employers. The fact that Mid Cheshire Hospitals recognises this is brilliant and means a lot. I’m glad this work linked to the Armed Forces Covenant is going from strength to strength and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the future to support veterans and those currently serving.” Find out more in our news release here: https://lnkd.in/einwva7H Find out more about our Trust's support for the Armed Forces community here: https://lnkd.in/eEwu9gaW UK Ministry of Defence Defence Relationship Management (DRM) #ArmedForces #ArmedForcesCommunity #ArmedForcesCovenant
