About us
On 4 July 2016, the Midland Metro Alliance came together with the remit to extend the Midland Metro tram network by approximately 40km across the region over the next ten years. We're incredibly proud of our current T-Level students who have really gave their all during their time with us here at the Midland Metro Alliance. T-Levels are a fantastic way to really give young people a great start in their chosen careers. But don't take our word for it, Alina says it better than we ever could!
Final year in T Level in Design, Surveying & Planning at Thomas Telford UTC Student Work Experience Placement at Midland Metro Alliance.
Yesterday Christabel Yeboah and me were delighted to attend a T Level conference event, invited by Strategic Development Network (SDN), to explore the incredible opportunities of partnering with T Level placements students. As a current T Level student, I have experienced firsthand the transformative power of this program, which combines classroom learning with practical industry experience and I talked about this during the table discussion sessions. Both Andrew Bristow from Thomas Telford UTC and Rose Rees MBE from Midland Metro Alliance joined the event panels to talk about their experiences with T Level students! This event was a fantastic platform for both employers and college providers to discover how they can play a pivotal tole in shaping the future workforce. #TLevels #Futureworkforce

Paving the way... Or lifting up? This week's been a busy one on Wednesbury to Brierley Hill extension, with marked progress made across many points of the route, so here's a few of the best bits! The steelwork for the lift shaft at Horseley Road tram stop is now installed. Over on Tipton Road tram stop we see a familiar sight as the paving on the platform area is complete, and at Great Bridge tram stop the platform edge slabs have been installed.

A bird’s eye view of the second stage concrete pour taking place for the Birmingham Eastside Metro extension, which began on Tuesday, along with some closer action shots. All-in-all more than 75 cubic metres of earth-friendly concrete was poured for the next layer of the track bed along Albert Street

Today, our construction teams paused their work to mark the solemn occasion of Remembrance Day. Along with people up and down the country, they stood in respectful silence, honouring the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. We remember with gratitude those who gave their lives, and we acknowledge the ongoing impact of conflict on so many. Lest we forget. #RemembranceDay #LestWeForget
