About Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances and a fleet of critical care cars serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands. This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK. Since our first mission in 1991, we have responded to more than 72,000 incidents as one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance operators in the UK, airlifting up to 12 people every day, 365 days a year. We do not receive any funding from the Government or NHS for our daily missions, we rely on generous support from the public and local businesses to raise the £1 3-14 million needed to remain operational. Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is an independent charity and healthcare provider that is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The aim of the CQC is to ensure patients can expect to receive the essential standards of quality while being treated by our team in the pre-hospital environment.

🚁 A Legacy of Healing: The Story of Brydie Tonks On January 29, 2006, Brydie and Andy Tonks from Gnosall, Staffordshire, faced a life-altering road traffic collision. Thanks to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, both were swiftly transported to hospitals, beginning their long journeys of recovery. Eighteen years later, Brydie and Andy are still navigating the physical and emotional scars of that day. In a surprising twist of fate, Brydie’s estranged father, Brian Smith, left an incredible legacy in his will to the very charity that saved their lives. Despite their strained relationship, Brian demonstrated his love and care by supporting Brydie’s recovery and later leaving his narrowboat to our charity, a gift worth £16,000, funding five lifesaving missions. Brydie said: "Although our relationship was strained, I always knew Dad cared for and loved me in his own way. His generosity to the service that helped save us is a huge comfort, knowing his legacy is saving lives." Brian’s selfless act serves as a testament to the impact of our charity and the power of giving back ❤️ Learn how you can leave a lifesaving legacy: https://lnkd.in/e7--teY8

🌟 Weekly Round-Up: Celebrating Our Amazing Supporters! 🌟 🦸♂️ A huge thank you to Redditch businessman Ben Truslove from John Truslove Chartered Surveyors, who raised an incredible £1,875 running the Alton Towers Half Marathon in November. MAAC is close to Ben’s heart, as we saved the life of his wife, Beth, after a serious car accident in 2019. Thank you, Ben, and all who sponsored you! 🙌 ❤️ Thank you to the Severnside Senior Citizens Club in Gloucestershire for their generous £650 donation after a talk from Nicole. 👥 Kay delivered a talk to Aldridge Probus, thank you to Tony and the group for your generous support! 🚗 Kay also attended the Black Country Cruisers awards night in Kingswinford. They’ve raised a fantastic £2,000! A special shoutout to Tracey and the junior cruisers for the warmest welcome. 🎄 Halesowen WI once again showed their generosity. After a donation in September, they raised even more for us during their Christmas party raffles. Thank you so much! 🏃♀️ Three-year-old superstar Asees raised an amazing £700 by completing the Junior Alton Towers Run! We loved welcoming her, her family, and her baby brother to our ABHQ, where she got to sit in our brand-new aircraft. 💪 Past patient Arron and his family visited our base to meet the crew who saved his life after a serious RTC. With the support of his work family at the Hundred House in Clunbury, they’ve raised over £12,000! Funding 4 air ambulance and 2 critical care car missions! Incredible work, Arron! 🏃♂️ Will Abbott visited us after taking on the 4x4x48 running challenge, raising £1,300. Will’s support stems from a personal connection after a roofer working on his house went into cardiac arrest featured on Code Red. Thank you, Will! 🎤 Finally, a big thank you to Marden WI for hosting Kate for her first presentation of 2025. Your warm reception and support mean so much to us. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has supported us this week. Your generosity helps us continue our lifesaving work! #ThankYou #Fundraising #MidlandsAirAmbulanceCharity
