About us

Vegan, fresh, colourful food that’s vibrant and full of flavours. We’ve been serving international inspired plant-based food in London for over 30 years. Our roots began in Soho, where we are still open every day. You can also find us in Camden, King’s Cross, Dalston, Covent Garden and Victoria. We use organic ingredients where possible and endeavour to source our ingredients from small businesses. Our four London restaurants, each with their own unique style and personality, offer laid-back and friendly service in a lively atmosphere. Often surprising and seducing hardened carnivores, with all of our dishes vegan and many gluten free, Mildreds offers a warm welcome to all. MALLOW A brand new, 100% plant-based restaurant in the heart of London’s Borough Market and Canary Wharf, brought to you from the team behind Mildreds. mallow is our sister restaurant, serving seasonal food inspired by cuisines from all over the world. Our aim is minimal waste wherever possible, with ingredients sourced from small, sustainable businesses, including those right on our doorstep.   • Giving Back with StreetSmart Charity UK Each December, we partner with StreetSmart, an incredible charity dedicated to supporting homeless and vulnerable individuals across the UK. Through their vital initiatives, every penny raised goes directly to those who need it most — helping provide safe shelter, meals, and essential support services. This past December, thanks to the generosity of our wonderful guests at mallow and Mildreds, we were able to raise over £9,400 for StreetSmart!   • Some of our team at our sister restaurant Mallow had the privilege of joining Louis Pommery for a harvest at the Pingleton Estate in Hampshire. It was an honour to hear from Head Winemaker Will Perkins and CEO Julien Lonneux about their journey, the origins of this venture, and the incredible dedication that has gone into creating such a remarkable product. Their passion for sustainable farming and meticulous grape cultivation is beautifully reflected in their sparkling wines, which showcase the subtle nuances of the terroir. We had a delightful day outdoors, harvesting Pinot Noir grapes and enjoying a relaxing lunch accompanied by freshly pressed Pinot Noir juice. The experience also included an exciting sparkling wine tasting and the chance to connect with fellow wine enthusiasts from the industry. Thank you for an incredible day — we can’t wait for next year’s harvest!

  • A trip to Japan with Akashi Tai 🌱 Meet David: Our Operations Manager at Mildreds. David joined us as a General Manager in our iconic Soho restaurant five years ago, before joining our operations team. During October, our friends at Akashi Tai invited David on a trip to Akashi in Japan to learn more about Sake. Akashi Tai make our Sake in Mallow and 135 East Gin in Mildreds and Mallow. Hosted by Akashi Tai, David went on a tour of their distillery to discover the full sake making process and got stuck in with helping the team! He visited rice fields, helped with the rice polishing, steaming, and cooling, went into the Koji room & witnessed the fermentation process. Learning about the history of Sake, which began in this region was also big part of this great experience. Each subsequent step of koji making, fermentation, filtration and pasteurisation is carried out with great attention to detail, overseen by a small and dedicated team of artisans who are committed to imbuing every batch with the same bodied and generous flavours the Akashi-Tai sake brand is known for. It's great to have David back in the UK to educate our teams on this incredible process.

  • Mildreds Soho is open! Our 18th century townhouse has undergone an incredible renovation to become more spacious, vibrant and eclectic, perfect for date nights and celebrations too, with a brand new spectacular private dining room on our third floor, as well as more seating, a larger bar, and cosy booth-style seating. Bookings are open, and walk-ins are welcome too. We look forward to welcoming you back to Lexington Street!

    On Sunday, a few of our brave Mildreds team members took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon, all to support a cause close to our hearts: Spread a Smile We’ve proudly partnered with this incredible charity for years, helping to bring joy and laughter to seriously ill children and their families during tough hospital stays. With your help and generosity, we’ve raised an incredible £14,200 for Spread a Smile! Thank you for helping us making a real difference in the lives of so many across the UK.
