We have an exciting new logo to mark 25 years 🌠 Our new logo represents the independent business that we are, our love of the animals under our care and our unique location. Whilst we are celebrating 25 years, Millcroft Vets has roots of independent practice that stretch back over 100 years. Our heritage derives from six small practices, and it is 25 years since we came together as “Millcroft Vets”. 🌟 New logo but same friendly veterinary team 🌟 We are really excited about our new logo and want to reassure our clients that everything else within the practice remains the same. We are proudly owned by the Directors, all of whom are Members of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and are vets working to care for your pets and farms, 24 hours a day, as part of the Millcroft Vets team. We want to thank our loyal clients for your continued support which enables us to remain proudly independent.

We aim to offer the best level of care, always acting in the best interests of our patients and their owners.
About us
Locally owned and managed for over 100 years Our practice has deep roots in Cumbria with a history stretching back to the 1920s. Over that time we have protected our independence, championed our values and provided care for our patients in the way that we think gives them the best opportunity for a happy and healthy life. As we’ve grown and our facilities have expanded, we only bring people into our team if they’re a strong fit for those values. Everyone who works here is in the veterinary industry because they want to be – because we love our jobs, and we love caring for animals and their owners. And there’s something about the Lake District that gets under your skin, because we all love our community too! With our central hub in Cockermouth providing a 24-hour emergency service, and branches in Workington, Keswick, Aspatria, Maryport and Egremont all providing friendly, dedicated teams to their communities, we provide the best care we can to pets and their owners throughout the area. Our current generation of vets, nurses and support team professionals share the vision and legacy of those who preceded them – to put the care of your animals first and foremost in the services they provide.

Often done with the best intention, please consider if a bird actually needs your help before you pick it up. If you find a fledgling (fully feathered baby bird) on the ground and they are not sick or injured it is usually best to leave them alone. Fledglings often leave the nest before they can fly and their parents continue to care for them on the ground whilst they finish growing their feathers. Please ring for advice before bringing any wildlife to the surgery. If we do need to see it, we will need to record your contact details and you may be asked to return it to where it was found. Thank you!

To help you identify your veterinary caregiver, the Millcroft Vets team have colour coded uniform, (similar to what you would expect if you visited a hospital yourself). If you are ever unsure though, please feel free to ask the team about their role, and how they are involved with your animals care, they will be delighted to talk to you about it. #weareoneteam 😁
