  • For this week’s #FeatureFriday we’re in East London, taking a look inside Super Symmetry Studios! Super Symmetry is a stylish 2-studio complex built in 2017 to exacting specifications and the latest in modern hybrid studio workflows. Studio A’s control room is a high-end mix room housing an SSL 4000G+ with ATC SCM300s for the monitoring. The connected live room has a high-end PA system hidden within its walls, and contains a Yamaha U1 upright and a vintage 60s Ludwig kit. With an impressive collection of vintage and modern synths along with all the classic outboard, mics and plugins you could need, the studio is perfect for writing sessions, mixing albums and rehearsals for busy artists who need to record and rehearse in the same place. Studio B, currently on Long-term let, is a smaller production and writing room designed for working in the box, featuring an SSL Nucleus control surface with an apollo system for the interface and ATC SCM100ASLs for the monitoring. Super Symmetry Studio’s fantastic location between Shoreditch, Victoria Park and Hackney Wick means there’s a huge number of things to see and do on your downtime – and central London is only 20 mins on the tube if you want to venture further afield. Columbia Road Flower Market is a must on a Sunday (because you can never have too many succulents), and its quaint shops and unique atmosphere make it still worth a visit at any time of the week. @cratebrewery’s canal-side bar is also worth a shout out for its fantastic craft beer, pizza and DJ sets that overall encapsulates the creative ethos of the area. We're proud to have the studio on our roster, and are excited to welcome in a new owner to continue our incredibly successful partnership! Studio 1, the centrepiece, is based around a stunning SSL AWS-948 console with Focal monitoring. • For this week’s #FeatureFriday we’re paying a visit to Les Studios Saint Germain; A mainstay of the Parisian recording scene since 1963, the complex was completely refurbished in 2015 and now sits amongst the finest recording studios anywhere in the world. This stunning three-studio complex in the heart of the Paris has built their reputation upon the fantastic acoustics of their 1300 sq. ft live room in Studio A; which also houses their magnificent 1953 Steinway Grand Piano. The flagship tracking room is based around a vintage Neve 3188 console, complimented by a full-spec Pro Tools HDX system alongside a Studer A827 for those wishing to stay fully analogue. There’s a superb selection of vintage and modern mics including 3 U47s and 5 U67s alongside some choice outboard and backline including a Wurlitzer, Hammond, Ludwig kit and so much more. Elsewhere in the building is Studio B – an Atmos ready mixing and production studio designed by Christian Malcurt, and Studio C – a writing and programming studio with a small booth. The sights and sounds of Paris need little introduction, but the studio’s central location means it’s the perfect spot for walking along the Seine, taking in the art at the Louvre or visiting Notre Dame Cathedral. One of our favourite places to take a break is the Jardin du Luxembourg, a picturesque 23-hectare garden just a 5-minute walk from the studio, famous for its tree-lined promenades and model sailboats. • For this week’s #FeatureFriday we visit a studio oasis located just outside of Rome, Italy. This is Forward Studios Rome! Forward was built with the aim of creating a ‘Sound Factory’ that could match the most prestigious studios around the world, and the result is a perfect equilibrium between a hugely creative atmosphere and uncompromising technical capabilities. The studio features a huge 110m2 control room, main live area and three booths, and is part of a complex that includes accommodation alongside a gym and wellness centre. Centred around an AMS Neve 88R, the control room offers all-Genelec monitoring in stereo, 5.1 or 7.1 depending on the needs of your project. There’s a huge selection of outboard, some choice mic options and an extensive range of backline that includes a Yamaha C7 grand, Hammond C3 and Leslie, and 2 drum kits with a variety of snares and cymbals to choose from. The Forward Studios villa lies in Grottaferrata, looking over the capital from a vantage point 330 metres above sea level. There are buses to the capital that stop just 50 metres from the studio, travelling on the direct road from there to the centre. From the Colosseum to Vatican City, Rome’s list of things to see and do is one of the most extensive, varied and spectacular anywhere in the word. The studio complex itself contains a guesthouse with 2 double beds and 2 singles alongside a large living space, and there’s plenty more accommodation options around the area that the studio team can coordinate and book if required. • For this week’s #FeatureFriday we visit the oldest independent studio in Sydney, recognised by many as their favourite recording space in the city. First opened over 40 years ago, A Sharp Recording Studio was extensively refurbished in late 2014 and as such is a well thought out working and living space for tracking, with fantastic acoustics. The space is centred around an SSL 948 AWS, complimented by a range of monitoring options and a well-chosen selection of outboard. The live room is 50 meters squared, with a full-length flutter-free wall down one side, and houses the studio’s beautiful, mellow-sounding Alec Steinbach Grand. There are also 2 isolation booths, with the largest being able to accommodate the in-house drum kit; a 1972 Ludwig Maple kit with mahogany wrap. A Sharp is situated in the suburbs of Sydney in the centre of Riverwood, and next to an eclectic choice of local restaurants and take-way shops that are open early till late. With Sydney’s iconic attractions, world famous beaches and excellent restaurants, clubs and live music, there’s always something to do or see. A short distance from the city, the sights remain equally amazing with long beaches, National Parks and outdoor activities that really show the diversity of the Land.
