A Canterbury art gallery has raised funds for Mind in Bexley and East Kent. Castle Fine Art, based in the Burgate, Canterbury invited 60 guests to attend a Christmas event to co-incide with the city’s festive lights switch-on. The generous VIPs kept East Kent Mind’s charity collection pot busy during the event raising a whopping £225 for mental health services in the district. Gallery manager Rebecca Pritchard said she was delighted with the total raised. Simon Dolby from East Kent Mind said: “We are so greatful to Rebecca and her VIPs for thinking of us at this time of year.” Businesses wanting an East Kent Mind or Mind in Bexley collection pot should contact simondolby@eastkentmind.org.uk

Proud to be part of this initiative.
We need to talk about suicide in the run up to World Mental Health Day. “People are frightened to mention their names because they’re worried you’ll get upset. I like talking about her. I don’t want her to be forgotten. For them not to speak to me about her, it’s more upsetting” – Mandy, lost her daughter to suicide Attitudes like this can often lead to people isolating themselves from friends and family and stop people from seeking the support they need. That’s why our award-winning Suicide Bereavement Service, delivered with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Mind in Bexley and East Kent is calling on our communities to put an end to this judgment and stigma. The message is clear: no one should be going through this alone Hear from Laura, Ian and Justin who all work together in our Suicide Bereavement Service, explaining why the stigma around suicide needs to stop: #WorldMentalHealthDay #WMHD #WMHD24 #SuicideAwareness

We are proud to be part of this international project.
🍂 This second day of the General Assembly could not have fallen on a better day 🍂 While our consortium partners discussed the benefits of #nature on #mentalhealth and well-being #equity, delving into the findings of the case studies analysed, they had the chance to take a deep breath (and a walk) at the University of Kent's Oasis Garden and reflect on #WorldMentalHealthDay, feeling inspired and refreshed after being in touch with nature ☘ Practicing what we preach, this is how we do it! 😎
