  • To protect people and the environment in mining areas our people and teams work in a wide range of environments. In the north-east our Horden mine water treatment scheme was built to protect local drinking water from rising mine water in the area. This drone flyover of the site was captured by a member of staff and offers a great overview of the site and the rugged Durham heritage coastline that we operate on.

  • As the Mining Remediation Authority, our remit covers England, Scotland and Wales and a wide range of landscapes, from remote hillsides to densely populated towns and cities. Our teams work across the coalfield at all times and in all conditions and capture some fantastic images to showcase the work they do to protect people and the environment in mining areas. In the New Year we will share more of these images and the stories behind them, so watch these channels to find out more!
