There's something special growing in Blackpool!! This is the fourth cohort that we've supported with a two day Systems Leadership Programme, in addition to a previous session with Executive Leaders, and an upcoming full day for young leaders aged 16-24 who are working in the system as Youth Council members, Young MPs and apprentices. Over 100 people have already been involved, many of which attend the regular ongoing community of practice events throughout the year too! The energy, collaborative spirit, insight and sense of "systems thinking" is infectious with many of today's participants already having seen and experienced the work in action from colleagues in their teams and organisations who have learned with us previously. This is how you grow a systems leadership movement. When an increasing proportion of colleagues see the world in a new way - they can create space for change to emerge. If you're working in a place that has perhaps had one of Sport England's Place Based Systems Leadership programme... what impact would it have, if you invested in ongoing cohorts of colleagues to join the movement. #systemsleadership #unitingthemovement Today: Understanding Context | Systems have Layers | Different Types of Problems Tomorrow: Leverage Points | Place Networks | Common Purpose | Influencing Change Ken Masser Laura Ivinson Matt Hilton Amy Thompson-Spears

Brilliant to have three of our team in the cohort of Sport England Place Based Whole System Leadership programme facilitators. We love supporting places to see and do things differently around Physical Activity. Cate Atwater | Jamie Waugh | Ken Masser

Yesterday we wrapped up the train the trainer programme, with 15 new facilitators joining the team to deliver Place Based Whole System Leadership programmes as part of the Sport England Place Expansion work. A great group of people hopefully feeling prepared and enthused to support places with an initial catalyst programme on their systems leadership journey in places. I loved every moment of our 3 days together! Thank you! The distinction between simple, complicated, and complex problems in systems theory was developed by Dave Snowden as part of the Cynefin Framework. It's really important to think about and understand - "What type of problem am I dealing with?" as the answer to this question will impact the way we need to approach the work. In this video, Jamie explains simple and complicated problems and the management approaches needed to work through them.

Yesterday, Ken Masser hosted Day 1 of the Burnley Place Systems Leadership Programme on behalf of Together an Active Future at the Prairie Sports Village. Super engaged group with lots of rich conversations valuable insight. Also really pleased to add our new sketchnoting support with Lois which brought loads of value - now available as a bolt on to our workshops, facilitation and group coaching.

What lovely feedback! We helped Everybody Health & Leisure and Cheshire East Council, to set up new local networks, to explore the local response to physical inactivity, and develop new or enhanced work on healthy weight. We enjoyed delivering workshops that brought together existing and new partners, to explore why a different approach to physical inactivity and healthy weight was needed, and how as a network of partners, they could make a difference with those complex problems.
