Their main areas of responsibility are asset management, brand growth strategies; expansionary investment, acquisition, property development and transaction activity. They are also responsible for overseeing and advising on our construction and maintenance programmes. These include; new builds, conversions, major refurbishment; building policy and maintenance and compliance activities. The Property team also source additional or replacement suppliers and contractors.

Well, what a weekend! Before storm Darragh arrived the poor Bathampton Mill was already under water! Up to 5ft in some parts of the restaurant. Our Area Building Manager Phil Rowe MCIOB is currently still helping with the huge clean up operations with the hope it will open on 16th December. Mitchells & Butlers Property continues Mitchells & Butlers PLC move to bring Browns Brasserie & Bar to the suburbs with our newest opening at Brown’s Sutton Park. Formerly a Toby Carvery and located in a historic building that was once a water mill constructed in the 16th century. The house was originally built in the 18th century as a mill house on the site of an earlier watermill. The mill was used to grind blades in the early 18th century, and later to polish guns for the Napoleonic Wars. The mill closed in 1840 and was partially demolished, but cottages next to Park House are the remains of the mill building. The house was extended in 1898 with a timbered Tudor style and is now a Grade 2 listed building, list entry 1116269 on Historic England website (see 3rd photo showing a postcard image from 1900 - 1930). The building has been totally transformed, bringing back to life all of the original features through a careful and well planned restoration process to create a beautiful new venue, oozing Browns Brasserie & Bar opulence and beauty We think you’ll agree it’s quite stunning and if you’re in the area please pop in and say high to Daniel Folcarelli and the team. We sat down with them to find out what makes their roles so rewarding: Mark thrives on the variety of tasks he faces, sharing that, "The best part is solving issues and receiving great feedback from sites. October really was the month of celebration for our Building Development teams! One of our final Building Development Contractor Forums held at our Retail Support Centre, was for our development Building Contractors, hosted by Ian Reeley. The day was full of new initiatives, networking, refining our ways of working and looking ahead to what is on the FY25 horizon and more.
