MIVOLT Immersion Cooling Liquids

Shell has announced a major investment at its manufacturing facility in Trafford Park, Manchester, which will expand the production capacity of its synthetic ester fluid. The new production line is currently in the commissioning phase and is expected to come online in early 2025. The investment follows Shell’s 2023 acquisition of MIDEL from M&I Materials and highlights the company’s long-term commitment to the MIDEL brand and addresses the growing ester transformer fluid market. “The commissioning of this new production line reflects the continued growth in demand for our synthetic ester fluid, and reflects the broader global shift by end users towards ester-based transformer fluids,” said Richard New, Managing Director at MIDEL & MIVOLT Fluids Ltd. “This investment highlights our confidence in our synthetic ester fluid as a proven, trusted and innovative product range that supports safer and more sustainable power infrastructure. By scaling up production, we’re reinforcing our focus on supplying high-quality, reliable synthetic ester fluids to our customers worldwide.” By expanding the production output for the MIDEL synthetic ester fluid, Shell wants to strengthen its position as a leader in the transformer fluid market, ensuring utilities and OEMs continue to benefit from a dependable range of environmentally sustainable transformer fluids.
