Our next Moniack in a Month online course will be about preparing for publication hosted by literary agent Jenny Brown from Jenny Brown Associates, with three guests from across the book world: writer and editor Malachy Tallack, editor and publisher Francesca Main and communications director Anna Frame. The four in-depth workshops, and the ceilidh at the end, are designed to take emerging writers through the essential steps to ready their first book for publication. The course covers: ⚡ different publishing routes available to new writers, from traditional to digital-first to self-publishing. ⚡ how to edit your manuscript so that it’s ready for submission. ⚡ preparing the submission package, finding the right agent and publisher, and securing a deal. ⚡ author’s role in book promotion including social media, finding writing communities ⚡ looking after yourself as you develop your writing career. We're very excited to share Life of a Book: a series of free online events designed to clarify the journey and processes of writing and publishing a book ✍️ 📚 ✨ The sessions will run over five days, Monday 13th – Friday 17th May, covering the following topics: ✍️ Writing the Book 💬 Querying 📚 Working with Publishers 📣 Post-Publication 🤲 Building Community Each day consists of panel discussions and 1-2-1 surgeries which will be led by key figures within the literature sector who have deep working knowledge of publishing and all its component parts.
