A great set of products helping the circular economy 😁👍
"If Lego was designed in the same way we design buildings, it would not be the successful toy it is today." 💚We love this clever analogy from Ryder Architecture's article on design for disassembly, highlighting the importance of reversible connections to avoid creating composite materials that are difficult to separate, reuse and recycle: https://lnkd.in/eDVK6DzD At CBS Insight, we understand the technical complexities of re-designing products for disassembly. 🔗Discover how we've helped manufacturers develop reversible, cleanly removable fixings for their products at https://lnkd.in/e5wizAqr #DesignForDisassembly #CircularConstruction #SustainableDesign #MaterialReuse #CommercialInteriors

Homing into school to create the ideal classroom: young people want to combine the best of home and school learning environments This paper shows that young people value the key design parameters of a learning environment, i.e. Light, Temperature, Air Quality, Ownership, Flexibility, Complexity and Colour that influence student learning and achievement. However, our participants go beyond the basic standards and propose a classroom environment where they can have the best of their homes (private learning environments, individual storage, independent learning activities and quiet, cosy, healthy and comfortable learning environments) and the best of their schools (shared learning environments with positive peer pressure, social learning environments, dynamic transitions between ranges of learning environments, and classroom ownership). Based on the results obtained, we conclude that the ideal classroom should be a combination of: 👉 1) structural design and technical solutions that allow adjustments to users’ preferences, 👉 2) a combination of flexible learning environments that have a strong connection with outdoor learning environments e and the remaining school’s spaces, 👉 3) an interior design solution that considers the teaching and learning practices, individual and group preferences, 👉 4) a space that enables different levels of ownership and place attachment that provide a comfortable atmosphere. Furthermore, our findings show that young people claim for a more comfortable and ‘cosy’ learning environment that allows them homing into school, with natural materials (earth colours), green elements, and easy access to physical and digital learning tools.
