Hey everyone, Lucy here👋 Just coming on to give my two pence, whether you asked for it or not. My little grumble? Black Friday. This infamous period of mega-sales has slowly made its way over from the States in recent years - and I for one, HATE it. Why? ❌ Mass hysteria and panic buying ❌ Independent, local businesses can't compete ❌ Encouraging consumer culture ❌ Associated waste with mass consumerism ❌ Some 'deals' aren't actually deals You may think a marketer would LOVE Black Friday - a chance to build some hype, boost sales, and attract new customers, but not all of us work that way. A lot of the time Black Friday sales just encourage people to buy things that they don't *really* need. Who wins? The big corporations who are able to compete on price. Who loses?
