Over the course of Storm Éowyn, we provided extra resilience to one of our arboriculture customers in the North West. 🌲💪 This included: 🌳 2 x 3-person arb teams and 2 x traffic management crews on standby in the customers depot, equipped with the right kit for attending windblown tree incidents. 🌳 a 3-person arb team on call out throughout the night and the weekend for prompt arrival on site. 🌳 A specialist crew on standby to tackle any flooding incidents on the high-speed network. This meant we successfully attended a wide range of call outs and helped keep the network safe. Our local multi-skilled teams have all been trained in-house which made it a proud moment to be able to provide this support to our customers. Last Friday we went on a mission in the local community supporting local schools and businesses with clearing snow from car parks, roads and pathways to ensure safety and accessibility for visitors. 🌨️ Equipped with a Multihog fitted with a gritting body and front mounted snow plough, we attended the following sites: 📍St Paul's CE Primary School, Hoddlesden 📍St Joseph's RC Primary School, Darwen 📍Blackburn Rovers Football Club 📍Darwen FC The Multihog is a great piece of kit for tackling these areas. Due to its compact size it can comfortably access areas larger gritters would struggle to. 👏 It's great when the community can come together in times like this! Happy Friday! We love receiving photos from our customers, especially when they're as good as this. 🤩❄️ Durham County Council have been busy using the Multihog to clear snow over the North Pennines this week. The heavy duty snow blower attachment can clear up to 950 tonnes of snow per hour. Starting the year as we mean to go on! Last week, management and supervisors across our highways and traffic management divisions came together for a Return to Work Safety Update Session. 👏 In the session we reviewed 2024, set the health and safety ethos for the year ahead, rolled out a new KPI structure, and shared best practice amongst the teams. As we've continued to grow, it isn't often we're able to all get together like this.
