We're delighted to announce the successful completion of this soft play area refurbishment at St Helens Primary School. Working in close collaboration with TL Group Soft Play Designs, M&C delivered comprehensive project management services, overseeing everything from initial design and procurement through to contract administration. This primary school's buildings were suffering with leaking roofs with some sections being 60 years old! The teachers were putting buckets out during rainstorms, and some classrooms were not safe to be used. Achieving 3 successive years of CIF funding, we tackled the school's entire roofing in carefully planned phases carefully planned phases, allowing for better budget management and smoother delivery, ensuring disruption to student learning was kept to a minimum . The first phase focused on replacing the most critical areas and installing a tapered decking system. Phase 2 addressed the urgent health and safety risks whilst preventing further classroom closures. Their work also improved thermal efficiency, helping reduce the school's electricity bills. For the final phase, the focus was on the structural work, including replacing the concerning woodwool decking. The new roofing system comes with a 25-year guarantee on coverings and is expected to last at least 40 years. All the areas of the school are now safe for students with weatherproof roofing across the entire site, complete with proper insulation that's already delivering energy savings. M&C carried out an investigation into the stability for the site around this particular school building. Post 5: Execution Lastly, we move onto the execution. Your architects are now responsible for overseeing the construction process alongside your project manager. This is vital, as it is their role to ensure the design is implemented as intended and plans are interpreted correctly. They will also conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and address any issues that arise.
