📌 I was part of the conversation today in the House of Commons statutory instrument: ‘Unpacking the Circular Economy - Sustainable Resources in the New Government’, organised by Policy Connect. 🔗 Brilliant keynote by Minister Mary Creagh MBE MP, address by Dr Roz Savage MBE MP and chaired by Tristan Osbourne MP. Really encouraging to hear about the commitment to develop a Circular Economy Strategy and the creation of a Circular Economy Taskforce by the new government - and particularly promising for our industry, in the learnings that can be taken from the packaging industry, in terms of policy shift and circular models for waste. I could write 1000 things, but ultimately, composite waste challenges are not just a composites problem, they’re a collective sector problem - so let’s join the dots! 💬 National Composites Centre #circulareconomy #resourceefficiency #materials #supplychain

📢 What a great gathering at National Composites Centre for our second ‘Extreme Composites’ event. The event brought together a diverse community of businesses and academics, sparking fantastic discussions. 🔥 Operating within extreme environments necessitates cutting-edge material systems capable of withstanding high temperatures, radiation exposure, and oxidation - essential elements for addressing the UK’s primary engineering challenges encompassing nuclear fusion, hypersonic vehicles, and achieving net zero aviation. Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) exhibit lightweight properties, enduring temperatures as high as 3000°C, and are delivering increased performance across various industries. 👏 Thank you to all our presenters, attendees, and exhibitors for your valuable contributions and participation. 💡 To learn more about our CMC capabilities and work, visit: https://lnkd.in/eD9USTC5 Pictured 📷 Ross C. | Anna Hayward Naïma Saadi | Dr David King | Konstantina Kanari PhD | Jacob Goodenough | Arthur Swarbrick, | Andrew Patterson CEng | Virtudes Rubio Díaz presenting on her +10 years of experience with CMCs.
