In an early look, the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) global accounts reveal how current sector trends across all major Value for Money (VFM) financial metrics impact organisations. Our Preferred Supplier, Housemark, has recently released their VFM Metrics report that takes an early look into the financial health of the housing sector, ahead of the Regulator’s VFM report. Shocking new data from Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government this morning. 🚨 159,380 - Record no. of children in temporary accommodation - up 14.6% in a year. 🚨 18,380 - Record no. of households in bed & breakfast since 1998. 🚨 68,140 - No. households accepted as homeless in the year to June 2024, 19.9% up on the previous year and the highest annual number since 2006. Our sector stands ready to work with government and help solve this housing crisis. We look forward to seeing the government's long-term housing strategy in the spring. 🏘️

It’s important that social housing residents consider home contents insurance and organisations are actively promoting the importance of obtaining this insurance to their residents. Our Preferred Supplier, Thistle Insurance Services who administer the My Home Contents Insurance scheme, have recently launched the My Home Quote and Buy system, making it easier and more convenient for residents to access home contents insurance cover. With the launch of the new online My Home Quote and Buy platform, residents who choose to pay monthly by direct debit can now purchase home contents insurance directly online.
