We are delighted to welcome the Ocean Conservation Trust to our Innovation Hub family! 🎉 For over 25 years, OCT has been at the forefront of marine conservation—bringing together scientists, educators, and divers to champion a healthier, more sustainable ocean. Their journey began with the creation of the UK’s National Aquarium and has since expanded into a global mission to protect and restore marine habitats. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring in advancing ocean conservation, sustainability, and innovation. Welcome aboard, OCT!

NOC has been awarded new funding to lead critical research into the potential collapse of the Atlantic Subpolar Gyre. 👀 Through more than £11 million in funding, from the UK’s Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA), NOC will lead the development of novel and innovative new ways to detect early warning signs of a change in the climate tipping point. NOC was delighted to host a marine research roundtable onboard #RRSDiscovery, organised by the British Embassy Lisbon. 👥 NOC's Dr Ben Moat and Dr Tillys Petit were joined by representatives from MARE - Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre, Instituto Superior Técnico, AIR Centre - Atlantic International Research Centre, Instituto Portugues do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), CESAM - Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies, Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) and Programa Polar Português. The roundtable helped further the dialogue between UK and Portuguese researchers to explore future collaborations and to discuss the UN Ocean Decade.
