Radar: The Cornerstone of All-Weather Performance Radar delivers exceptional performance where other sensors falter. Renowned for its reliability in mission-critical applications like defence, aviation, and marine environments; radar thrives in extreme conditions. Unlike LiDAR, which faces challenges in fog, rain, or snow, radar’s longer-wavelength radio waves penetrate these obstacles effortlessly. This ensures consistent detection and accuracy, making radar the trusted choice for safety-critical environments. For industries where reliability and precision are non-negotiable, radar stands as the ultimate solution—ensuring performance, no matter the weather. #Radar #AllWeatherPerformance #SafetyIsEverything #Innovation

Wrong-way driving incidents are often serious in nature. Navtech's ITS radar can detect and track wrong-way drivers, providing incident alerts in seconds and location data of the vehicle. Without a wrong-way driver detection system, operators are reliant on the public to call in incidents, and then it can be difficult to locate the wrong-way vehicle. With precise location data from the Navtech radar-based system which monitors the entire highway, response teams can be deployed to the correct location, and warning signs or closures can be put in place on the appropriate sections of the motorway, helping to save lives. Recent press coverage has highlighted that 988 incidents involving oncoming vehicles were reported on England's motorways in the year to November 17, up from 858 in the previous 12 months. Globally, wrong-way driving events are of increasing concern as road operators look to achieve zero harm targets but see rates of wrong-way driving events increasing. Watch our video to see how our technology can help improve road safety by detecting wrong-way vehicles while also delivering many other applications, such as stopped vehicle detection, hard shoulder monitoring, and count data from the same system.

Maritime navigation faces unique challenges like harsh weather, platform instability, and dynamic environments. Traditional sensors like cameras and LiDAR struggle in these conditions, but radar sensors offer a robust alternative with long-range detection and resilience, leading to reduced hardware maintenance demands in saline and weather-exposed conditions. X-band radar provides excellent long-range situational awareness but has limitations in close-range operations like berthing. A high-resolution W-band Navtech Radar complements this with precise, high-update-rate detection for nearby objects. While multi-sensor datasets are common for land vehicles, no one has integrated W-band radar, X-band radar, and LiDAR for maritime environments—until now. This ground-breaking work from the team at Seoul National University, in a project with Seadronix Corp., sets the stage for advances in autonomous vessel navigation and safety.
