Connecting our communities with a better financial future.

About us

Newcastle Building Society has provided trusted financial products and services for more than 150 years. As one of the biggest building societies in the North East, we’re still small enough to care deeply about our members, employees and the communities we serve. Our Head Office sits at Cobalt Business Park in North Tyneside, with high-street branches across our region. Because we’re committed to the principles of mutuality, it means we put our customers and the communities we serve first. We pride ourselves on our friendly, knowledgeable service that starts and finishes with a smile.

  • We're gearing up to make a difference this winter.. 🚚🎄🎁 Come along for a day in one of the FareShare North East vans, delivering food parcels around our Branch Network! They rely on vans to deliver food and toiletries to over 200 charities across the North East, each van delivering 800 kilos worth! We're fundraising to help them buy a new van, that will help them make even more deliveries, and be better for the environment. 🚛 You can help by donating food and toiletries at your local branch, or by making a monetary donation during their Big Give Week, 3rd – 10th December, where donations will be matched! 👏 Find out more about Fare Share North East: https://bit.ly/3O6VzSs

  • It's Living Wage Week, and we're taking a step beyond. 👣 We're committed to making a big impact, and this is how we're doing it... We're a Real Living Wage employer and have been since 2017. This makes a huge impact on employability in our region and is a great benefit to our Early Talent colleagues, who get to earn a real living wage while they complete their apprenticeships, student placements, and graduate roles. ⚡ We're a Real Living Pension employer, the first in our industry and region! We're committed to connecting our communities with a better financial future, and that includes our colleagues. 💰 We're supporting Newcastle in becoming a Living Wage City. Making an impact on our region is a priority for us, and this is one way we're committed to improving the financial futures of the people in our communities. 📍 Find out more about the Living Wage Foundation and how you could make a difference. 👉 https://lnkd.in/gHixBnN

  • Happy Halloween! 👻🎃 There've been no tricks here, only treats, as we've been doing spooky fundraising for our Community Fund at the Community Foundation serving Tyne & Wear and Northumberland. 🧛 At our head office, we had special pumpkin spice lattes and terrifying toffee apple muffins for sale, with all profits going to the Community Fund. ☕🧁 We had a best-dressed pet competition. We think they all look wickedly cute! 🐈🐕 We held a Halloween-themed quiz hosted by Dracula and Cruella Deville! Our branches also looked fa-boo-lous. 🎃🧛
