It was our great pleasure that Hannah Fry announced her new role while speaking at the event on Communicating Mathematical and Data Sciences – What does Success Look Like? which explored evidence for effectively communicating research in mathematical and data science to non-experts such as policy makers, mainstream media and the wider public. https://lnkd.in/e9BkVzpH We are very grateful to Grace Merton who is Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences Communication Assistant for the amazing photographs she took.
Huge congratulations to Hannah Fry, the University of Cambridge's first Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics. Hannah will be joining the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP) in January 2025. Yesterday (21 November), was a great honour to host the 'Communicating Mathematical and Data Sciences – What does Success Look Like?' event, developed by Newton Gateway to Mathematics in partnership with the Millennium Mathematics Project (plus.maths.org), where Hannah gave her official announcement of her appointment. We wish Hannah all the best in her new role as Professor of the Public Understanding of Mathematics. 👉 Learn more about her plans for the new role: https://lnkd.in/eabh5b-j #HannahFry #CambridgeUniversity #UniversityOfCambridge #Cambridge #Maths #Mathematics #Physics #isaacnewtoninstitute Faculty of Mathematics, University of Cambridge
