We are looking for feedback on the usability of the technical guidance documents we publish, including Health Building Notes (HBNs) and Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs). We are looking for insights from a range of people who use this guidance, to capture key needs and wants, and to inform potential changes to the format and usability of the guidance in the future. The 10-minute questionnaire doesn't look at the technical content, but focuses on your experience of using the guidance documents. You have until Friday 20 December to tell us what you think. The survey should take about 10 minutes to complete: https://lnkd.in/eEU2TaTq

Fantastic to see the new emergency department at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, open to patients recently. The project was procured through our #ProCure22 framework and delivered by IHP (the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine). Find out more below 👇
Promising a "better experience" for patients, the emergency department at Queen Alexandra Hospital opened its doors to provide improved facilities for adults and children requiring emergency care across Portsmouth and the surrounding area. Separate entrance and waiting areas for child and adult patients have been created, and patients will experience more privacy while receiving care and improved infection control with most patients being treated in single rooms. The new unit has better access for ambulances with a covered handover area, as well as a designated drop-off zone for patients. The adult's unit has a Changing Places toilet which has more space and equipment for those who may need additional help and the department has also been designed with extra space for patients who may need resuscitating. The brand-new, modern emergency department, delivered by IHP (the joint venture between VINCI Building UK and Sir Robert McAlpine), began building work in March 2023. The building was designed to have more natural light throughout to benefit patients and staff. It will provide a better experience for patients needing emergency care in a more modern and purpose-built environment with the children’s emergency department now having an observed play area and sensory room. https://lnkd.in/eYvKjcsb #IHP NHS England NHS Estates and Facilities #ProCure23 #Healthcare

We love that Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is growing potatoes on-site, providing fresh, local produce for use in the hospital restaurant!🥔
What's landed this Wednesday at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust? 🥔 Potatoes! And plenty of them! 🌱 Our two fantastic volunteers, Éva Mészáros and Marianna Mikus, have been busy harvesting a bumper crop of potatoes from the hospital’s garden allotment. These freshly picked spuds are now on their way to our Catering team, where they’ll be used in delicious meals served at the Eaglestone Restaurant. It's garden to plate hospital-grown goodness 😋 #Volunteering #Allotment #FreshProduce #Sustainability #CommunityGardening #ThankYou

As part of #GreenCareersWeek, we're sharing this profile of Sarah, a sustainability champion at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Sarah works in the estates team to manage the trust's energy usage and implement greener practices in travel, transport and water to drive meaningful change for patients and staff. Read more below ⬇ #GCW2024
Meet Sarah, a sustainability champion at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is making waves in the NHS! She's on a mission to make the NHS greener that has a positive impact on patients. With a diverse background that includes roles at Defra and Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, Sarah swapped careers to the NHS after discovering a perfect opportunity. The pandemic brought challenges, especially in her efforts to engage young people about environmental issues. She launched a community interest company focused on getting into schools to talk about green issues, but when schools shut down, she found a new career at Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, leading her to her current NHS role. Now, Sarah is dedicated to managing the Trust’s energy usage, promoting usage reductions and implementing greener practices in areas such as travel, transport and water. Although she’s still new to the NHS, she’s already pursuing projects like improving cycling facilities and acquiring electric bikes for community nursing teams, along with installing more EV chargers. Her work not only supports sustainability but also enhances mental health and wellbeing for patients. "It’s incredibly rewarding to contribute to an organisation that prioritises sustainability and drives meaningful change for patients." #GreenCareersWeek #GCW2024
